Easy ten miles/3 modest hills ride after work on the long wheelbase 'bent. One and a half minutes of sprinkling rain actually felt kinda good.

Bike Virginia Day 5. 100 miles of moderate rollers with only a few longer hills. Gimpy hub held up. One more day to go.

Congrats on the recovery and being "back in the saddle". But I wouldn't consider 20.3mph average to be slow (maybe that's just me). I can push it up to 20mph but can't maintain it. Too old, too fat, too tired. 15mph sustained is my pace (the Speedo avg sez 12.8).

Got out an hour late (8:30) this am. Took the from home for a pleasant 16.1 miles (Speedo sez 11.5 avg). Also added a small American flag below the larger bright orange triangle and a small blinking tail light halfway up the mast.

I just got back...

I rode from my house here in the western suburbs of Richmond, Virginia, and rode down to the James River along Riverside Dr., turned around and rode back the same way. 14.30 miles in 57:33 for an avg speed of 14.9 mph.

On the return trip on Riverside Dr., I stopped at the "Z Dam" where people always kayak in the rapids (and go through the "chute" (top/center) in the dam). I snapped a photo of my '85 Fuji Del Rey up against the fence with the river in the background.

35.5 miles @ 16.9 avg. with 998 ft of hills. Nice day after the T Storms blew through last night. Started out solo but hooked up with my bud Pete about 30 minutes in. I enjoy riding with the guy but I know it's going to hurt. He likes being the big dog but I get sucked in and make him earn it Good ride.

I like your 900r

Usually the 41/42 miler with the guys on Tuesday is more like 23.5mph average so it was slow but both temperature and humidity were high and I just can't contribute to the pulling like in the past. I'm guessing a side effect of having zero testosterone is a feeling similar to having mono. Tired, weak muscles, aches and pains are intensified......really a drag.

Last day of Bike Virginia was misty and coolish, but quite pleasant. Finished up with 60 miles or so. Pretty good week of riding. I wish I could figure out the issues with my rear-end pain. On some days it was fine, and some it was torture.

A good paced 45 miles this morning. Temperature was nice but the humidity was high. Good thing for the nice wind we had to cool us down.

JimF - I think that's called "old age". Happens to ALL of us. Fortunately I still have a fair amount of padding

18.6 two wheel miles this morning @15mph. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get out the door at 7:30. There's always something I forgot (multiple "Senior" moments). It was a warm but pleasant ride.

Weather reports scared me from riding to work today - of course it didn't rain but I was able to get in a nice 14 mile ride after work.

61 miles this afternoon, 18.8 avg w/ meaningful but not big hills. Must look pretty good in my full aero tuck, got called a "fa**ot" by some beer infused rustics, which I found sort of amusing.

Do all roadies fantasize about gas at $50 a gallon?

23.5 miles, 1930 ft. 93F. I'd be happy to trade a little bit of our sun and heat for the rain in the mid-west. But just a "little" bit, preferably weekdays.

18.4 miles today on one of my usual hilly routes. Beautiful but somewhat windy day in the low 70's. Managed to bring average speed up to 15.7 mph, these hill workouts are beginning to pay off, slowly but surely.

I went out after lunch and rode 15.75 miles (even got stopped by construction/bridgework, and had to turn around), but I had a nice ride in the suburbs. I made the ride in 59:47 with an avg speed of 15.8 mph.

Overcast and cool for 15.5 miles @15mph on the Allez. A bit humid, but probably not compared to the Southeast.

Lost a chain link a few weeks ago so it was cross-chaining in high 5th gear. Found a nine speed link at Kiwanis Bikes and restored it to a proper 54 links. Makes a difference.

Rain predicted for 2pm but Ma Nature's Depends must have been leaking. Got caught in a sprinkle for the last 4 miles (9:45am).

Got back out at 0750 and had the best day biking since prostate cancer surgery May 26, with a total of 109 miles today. The guys really helped me along. We had some 28mph sections then backed off for recovery. Hot and humid did us all in a bit. Got to get out tomorrow early AM for some walking training. Have a half marathon later this year followed by a Disney cruise and then a marathon in January at Disney. Walking legs just haven't been alive so it's going to take a long time to bring them back. Hoping to get back to at least a 11 minute/mile speed walking pace for the full, so lots of hard work ahead.

65th birthday ride next Friday with a bunch of guys saying they are showing up.
