My F. H. Grubb was finally completed at the shop and I rode it 9 miles home today! I don't have the shifter, yet, so he had to set it up as a single-speed. The first steel bike I've ridden since 1985. It was awesome, especially going down steep hills on uneven surfaces. It smoothed it right out. I'll send some photos soon.

Rode 16 miles on a balmy Friday evening, half on gravel. Felt like I was loafing but splits show I was riding only slightly slower than usual. Guess that's a good sign.

Shorts weather yesterday, chilly and overcast today. 18.6 @1:30 on the Allez and beat the rain home. Wind picked up considerably too. It seems that no matter which direction you ride, it's against a headwind.

A very windy, 37 miles this morning. A big change from yesterday's calm winds.
After the ride, it was down to Lakewood Ranch, FL, to work the registration desk at tomorrow's Tour de Cure. After that, we're heading to Sarasota to ride the Legacy Trail.

65+ miles with about 5500' of climbing in Western NC. Cooler than normal, winds gusted 25+ but trees blocked most of it.

New Schwalbe tires on my SS and they are great. Durano's in 28, so I can run them at 85. Smooth, soft, and fast.

h2o, nice pic!
I got in 48.7 on the Grandis today. Temps in the upper 40's, sunny, bit of headwind in every direction but a lovely day nevertheless.

Rode 22 miles with the wife this morning on the Legacy Trail in Sarasota after completing our volunteer work with Tour de Cure. First time on that trail and it was very nice. We were told it was 24 miles long but that must be end to end and out and back because it's only a bit over 10.5 miles long.

Surprised myself with 143 miles this week, with all the wedding happenings I figured it would be a light week. Our son's wedding went off, Friday night, grandly. We now have a wonderful additional daughter, Kimberly is welcomed into our family.

Twelve miles Sunday afternoon, all uphill both ways, 15 mph winds with 25 mph gusts both ways, through a blizzard. No idea where that blizzard came from on a 70F day with fairly clear skies. But I'm pretty sure I saw Abe Lincoln walking to school along the way.

I commuted today. Will wind up w/ 20 miles round trip.
Yesterday had a lovely ~60 mile group ride in the rolling hills of Westchester. Wait, let me rephrase that:
Yesterday had a lovely ~30 mile group ride in the rolling hills of Westchester, smack-dab in the middle of the Bronx & Yonkers' hellacious junk mile bookends.

Got out this morning for 15.5 miles with a steady wind out of the south. Ride home was great though. :-) Hoping to see some nice Spring weather soon.

I rode to work again this morning. It was a lovely summer day except for the weather (which was cold, damp, even wet at times).

A 37 mile, WTF ride with Mr. Wind this morning. Sent from being nice and calm to "I can go faster walking" in a matter of minutes. And it decided to stay that way for the entire ride.

24.9 @1:58 miles on the Roubaix. Rain yesterday and no ride tomorrow so I made up for it today. The sun decided to come out after the ride. 18mph is fairly easy but sustaining 20mph+ is elusive.

Wind. Ah yes, I understand the concept. Had to get home somehow anyway this evening, mostly on the small chainring. So dang the wind and keep pedaling. 38mph wind? What wind?

Rode 25 miles Monday afternoon, mostly flat compared with my shorter, hilly 12 mph pain route. Intended to ride only 2 miles to the store and back, but the combination of antihistamines, decongestants and the aftereffects of last night's pints of 8% ale conspired to conflate confidence and poor judgment.
Actually a very pleasant afternoon ride. The wind was blowing from every which direction, so splits where I usually ride 8 mph were 18 mph today, and sections where I usually ride 12 mph were around 6 mph. At one point a fierce wind dropped the temp 15 degrees in minutes, from 85 to 70. Felt good for us. Not so great for the folks toward the east who got smacked with grapefruit sized hail.

Beautiful morning, but no ride. Appointments. So I decided to ride the trike in the afternoon. Got ¼ mile from the apt. turned around, went back, put on more clothes. Overcast and windy with a threat of rain. 14.5 @1:22 cruising miles. But I did get a ride.

Got a late start due to an early morning doctor's appointment. Winds were already strong when I started but I still managed a great 40 mile solo ride. Hoping to do more but the skies dictated otherwise.

Cool and sunny at 8:45AM, great day for a ride. Strong winds by 10AM (they are always headwinds no matter which way you go), got a good workout on the Allez 22.6 @1:46 miles.
