Got in 53 K with a nice chap from work at lunch..... No rain thankfully. :-)
Twenty six miles after work out past Archer, poked into Levy County for a few miles. Good strong start, but certainly not in saddle shape, as it felt like I was without a seat the last few miles. Weather was great, temps in the 60's at sunset, but a bit breezier this time.

Did a Le Tour de Yard Sale today, with at little Le Tour de House Hunt along with it. . .
21 miles Friday afternoon/evening, about half on gravel. A little cool, upper 40s, very pleasant.
Morning: 12 chilly overcast miles on the local gravel roads on the horse, trotting 10 of those miles, walking the remaining 2. Got in some good hill work, too. Evening: 45 minutes (abt 12 miles) on the trainer "cycle dancing" to repeats of Bruno Mars ("Uptown Funk") and Adam Levine ("Don't Wanna Know"). Nice way to close out the day.:)

After riding my 57 mile ride on Thursday, my buddy Steve wanted to do a 60 miler this morning. It was very windy toward the end of the ride and I did most of the pulling so I didn't feel like doing the last two miles on the service road. 58 miles for me, 60 miles for Steve.

Rain rain, go away. Ma (Nature) fooled me with sunshine and a very lite breeze - until I got on the bike path. Lotza clouds and wind. Near the end of the 16 mile (28.8k) ride had I stopped pedaling the wind would have blown me backwards. I'm more than ready for spring.

Started a bit cloudy and windy at 7:45AM and had cleared up by 10:30AM but winds hung around. 80 miles for the day.
Chilly and wet morning ride thanks to the heavy fog that didn't lift until 10:00 am. Wanted to do a repeat of yesterday's 58 mile ride but too many restroom stops made for a 32 mile ride today. :(
Spring-like day in Indy (sunny and low 40's!). 13 mile tandem ride followed by 5 solo miles.
Cut the ride short to 9.6 miles (15.4k) because a BIG wind came up.

I started out this AM in cold, breezy weather, but quickly realized I was underdressed, so I hit the gym and did some weights ( I try to lift 3x per week).
By the afternoon, the wind had subsided and temps warmed into the mid sixties, so I headed SW out of Gainesville and reached the tiny town of Bronson. I felt pretty comfortable on the Domane, but then.....flat tire. I was able to get going again, but it did disrupt my rhythm a bit. Logged in just over 40 miles, it's gonna take a while to get my biking shape back. |
I rode Friday, yesterday and today.... all mtb miles, about 30 overall. Oh, that would be 30 miles over an inch of snow and crusty ground
I got in 20 miles. It was 45 out and thought all would be fine with my gloves and Castelli top. But I was wrong, half way into the ride the fingers got numb. Made shifting fun. Towards the end of the ride the toes started to get cold. I need to regroup on this colder weather riding.

38 miles on a warm Sunday. Great ride the first 22 miles. Fell hard on my ribs so the final 16 miles home weren't fun. Hurt a lot worse than my two falls last year, but there isn't much the hospital can do about bruised or cracked ribs so I just went home. Probably gonna need a few days off.
Rode with two of my teammates, Lou and Jeff, for a very nice 40 miles. I don't get to ride with them much unless there is a charity ride or some other team event so today's ride was very enjoyable.
Left work a bit early to catch a beautiful FL late afternoon ride. Strong 25 miles in calm weather, feeling pretty good about my progress. Sun is just getting ready to set.
Perhaps a mile, but a bit too nippy cold in the Mile High city of Denver, so went back to our cars and straight to Panera bread.
Got an 11.5 mile ride in before the sun went down. Nice 65° day with no wind. Had one dog chase me. Added to the fun.
Was hoping to get 20 in after the SB before dark, but thanks to the OT, had to settle for 14. It was also pretty windy so I was dodging tree crap all over the road. Did pass a woman walking wearing a Brady jersey and gave her a thumbs up.

A very windy, 40 mile, solo ride this morning. Temps in low 70s at the start. Didn't even need arm warmers it was so nice. But the wind ..........
I'm a bit north of John V up in Gainesville, and I can verify his claims of the wind....brutal today!!. Boy, that long wheelbase on the Domane really stabilizes the bike in these conditions! I can only ride after work, but both yesterday and today did just over 26 miles each day. That's the distance from my driveway to the Levy County border and back, heading SW on 24. The wind was from the west, so the ride back was a blast! Hit over 30 mph in a few spots, and averaged about 18 for today's ride. Not too shabby......
First ride since crashing Sunday and bruising some ribs. Just 4 miles at a moderate effort. Monday was awful. Tuesday wasn't bad, as long as I don't use my left lung to breathe.

Sunshine in my eyes, rain in my face. Screwy weather. 13.2 miles (21.2k) and this time I didn't try to go thru the flooded parts. The one farthest away dips and is about 14" deep. http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9ghxazmc.jpg 2017: 247m (397k)♂Total: 14,668m (23,605k) |
