Went for a town cruise yesterday.
A bike shop I like, mostly. Darigold Dairy in town has a few nice murals.

22.8 miles (36.7k), it's June and it was COLD this morning. I should have worn a lined jersey and full finger gloves. Warm weather will be here...eventually.
I did 5,365 miles (8,635k) last year. I've set my goal at 5,800 this year. So far I'm 341 miles ahead of this time last year.

Perfect day for a casual company ride
21 miles - 5 of us for the Thursday Ladies Bike Ride on the W&OD trail. Perfect day, perfect weather, perfect trail, fabulous company, and a stop midway for Starbucks and milkshakes. Made for a wonderful morning.

No ride today or yesterday. Wife needed to go for her physical therapy at 9:00 AM and something came up to were my son couldn't take her so it was left up to me. Hopefully, it won't rain, as predicted, tomorrow and I will be able to get in a nice ride.

Morning commute, 9 miles. Missing screw on bottom of rear bike rack, had to pull one from second (unused) bottle cage mounting point, but fixed it and rode in to work. First time having to make a repair (albeit a minor one) during the commute.

21.0 miles (33.8k) only today I dressed appropriately for the cool morning air (long sleeves and full finger gloves). By 11:30 it was a little too much, but the ride's over then (except for riding the 1.5 miles home after lunch).
I've been trying to do a minimum of 20 miles each ride. Any less than that and it doesn't feel right—except when the weather dictates otherwise. Ha, two years ago I considered 15 miles a major accomplishment.

30 miles at an organized ride in Maryland this morning. Perfect day, perfect weather, nice route through farming country that was gently rolling, but for the most part reasonably flat. Temps low to mid 70s, clear, bright, sunny. Bit of a headwind for the first 9 miles, but sidewinds and tailwinds for the remaining 21. Traffic very polite, too.
Hubby remained at the ride parking and read while I rode, then thoroughly enjoyed the ride lunch afterwards. He chatted with a Catrike owner (who had recently had back surgery) about the guy's new ride which was indeed quite a lovely machine. I hope hubby might be inspired to start considering a trike...

Had to take the wife to PT yesterday morning so I didn't get in a ride. Today was suppose to be a rainy day but as it turned out, the weather is just perfect for riding. A bit humid but not much in the way of winds. Got in a good 50 miles amid a ton of people at the park today. I didn't get the workout I was hoping although I was able to open it up some on the loop.

29.0 miles (46.7k). Cool enough for arm sleeves, partly cloudy. Rode up (incline) Huffaker again (countryish-lite traffic), 27mph coming down (wheeee). Hit every major cross street red light getting there and all the way home. There goes the 20+ mph momentum.

2 weeks ago today we flew from SW FL to Rapid City to visit wife's aunt we haven't seen in years. Then off to Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest ending in El Paso for grandson's Eagle Scout ceremony and H.S. graduation. Flew back yesterday our 44th anniversary and was able to get out on the Paramount this morning at 4:15am to begin a much needed ride after nothing for 2 weeks. Finished up with 101 miles, some fast with the LBS guys and some slow. No more riding for another week in preparation for my monthly prostate cancer blood work then another 100 miler next Saturday, if the rains hold off.

Ive worked hard and with bad weather ect ect I should be happy with my progress.//;Even at 69 yrs.old im not. I stayed on the bike and pushed when I could for 20 hilly miles and I cant say that when finnished fatigue was a problem. I want to be strong when I go to Canada but im afraid with only two or three weeks before I go I doubt it. Ill keep you informed on my progress///I enjoy reading you bikers training regimens so pease tell me what yer doing.Kenneth
To answer your original question, no, but I did ride in the neighborhood of ten miles yesterday. Have a speedometer on order from the bike shop so I know for sure.
Now my question; what kind of bike did you ride, road or mountain?

50 mi. yesterday in the Tour de Melon all around Chiefland. I almost didn't make the trip because it was raining here when I left. But the rain held, zero wind and pancake flat, averaged almost 20 mph with three other riders. We took turns pulling and worked well together, lots of fun. It's a nice event - next year I'll do the full century......

Beautiful 2 hour ride this morning here in the suburbs of Richmond, VA!
30.88 miles from my house, looping around the outer suburbs in Manakin-Sabot, VA and back home at an (avg) speed of 15.3 mph. I did stop a few times to snap a photo or two, showing the peace and quiet of the empty roads (most people were in church already).
Here's the map from MapMyRide app, that shows the whole area...

Here, this looks like you are sitting on my beloved '85 Fuji Del Rey along Snead Rd.

I stopped along Manakin Rd & Broad Run to drink my water bottle, and took a photo while I was at it. Up ahead on Manakin Rd is a whole bunch of horse farms and pastures. Gotta watch out for pickups & horse trailers when they do horse shows...

This is Broad St. in Manakin-Sabot, where Manakin Rd comes out. It's fine though, as you can see a wide enough shoulder on the right, and it gets really wide along Broad St. I turned right, rode along Broad St briefly, and turned right again onto Hockett Rd. (as seen on the MapMyRide map)...

Coming down the hill on Hockett Rd (you can still see Broad St in the background), I stopped by a very well known emergency Vet and took another photo.

You can see how empty the road is along Hockett Rd on the way back. Nobody around, everyone was still in church. I could have ridden for hours and hours and hours, you know?

LOL... For the last photo, this was a welcome relief!
Just past the 288 expressway on River Rd (almost at mile marker 24 on the map), I saw that Benedictine Prep College had their sprinklers running, so I rode through the mist and got cooled off! I quickly turned around and snapped a photo of the sign and sprinklers running.

At our HOOTs (Hoosiers out on Tandems) Weekend in Madison IN, got in rides of 50, 33 and 20 miles Fri-Sun. Today's 20 mile ride had 781 feet of elevation gain, mostly on a single long climb; this ride won the prize for most gain per mile.
Had to take a detour on foot on Friday around a crew working on a downed power line.

23.3 miles (37.5k), sunny day, but Ma's wind minions were waiting for me 2/3 of the way into the ride. Fortunately it was mostly a tail or side wind riding home. Still cool enough at the start for long sleeves and full gloves.

Almost didn't go, felt tired, but went out and hit four of the biggest hills around here, 47 miles. Cool but sunny day, not a cloud in the sky.

I was hoping yesterday's rainy forecast was going to be as incorrect as Saturday's as I was planning a 60 mile ride. Unfortunately, they were right this time. Wasn't raining when we left, so our hopes were up but around mile 5 it started raining. Since we were already soaked, we opted to do at least one loop and decided at the end if we were going to continue. Finished the first 29 mile lap and it was still raining so we opted to quit since the asphalt on our route was really slippery and each of us almost went down on separate occasions during the first lap. Raining again this morning. We really need the rain, but I really want to ride.

I feel the same way - it can rain and the wind blow all it wants in the afternoon—AFTER the ride.
22.8 miles (36.7k), cool and sunny. Took off the sleeves 2/3 of the way thru the ride but I was stuck with full finger gloves (no biggie, I like the gloves).

Supposed to rain for the next several days, but it held this afternoon so I could complete a quick 35 miles heading towards Williston on Highway 41 South. This route is flat and a tad longer than my normal ride, but the road has a nice bike lane, is smoother, canopied, and less traveled. I'll probably adopt it as my new favorite.
Not expecting to ride much more this week, as I will NOT ride in rainy conditions.
Our club ride leader is looking for someone to lead Saturday's ride in his absence, so I'll step up and take it.
