7 miles after work today. Just a bit dark by the time I finished. Advantage of always using lights front and rear is that you've got 'em if it actually gets dark while riding.

Nice and chilly this morning with overcast skies. The sun never did come out today which made the ride very enjoyable. Got in a good 40 mile ride with my buddy, Steve, which pushed me over the 10,000 mile mark for the year. I think I'll celebrate with a few beers at dinner tonight.

Wow, over 10 thousand, impressive (but then you are in Florida). I'll get close to 6,000 miles for this year.
20.0 miles (32.2k). Funny how that came out to an even 20. Pretty cold for the first 40 mins, then the sun came out for a while. Teased in and out of the clouds for the rest of the ride.

20.9 miles (33.6k). Weather similar to yesterday - a little colder at 8:45 a.m., virtually no wind. If I dress for the initial cold I'm a little overdressed by the end of the ride. I opted for starting "not-cold".
I've surpassed my original goal of 5,800 for the year.

The temperature got down into the 30's last night, so today I waited for the temp to get over 50 before heading out. I made an uneventful 2.0 hour tour around town.
Last week I got a great deal on a Cycliq Fly6(v), but because of in climate weather last weekend, I was not able to try it out until today. It's different watching from behind instead of in front of me.

54 miles Beautiful if a little cold day today, mostly sunny day with temps in the low 50°s. A few miles from finishI had a mechanical, the pedal came off the spindle, this is the 3rd set of eggbeaters to fail on me, these are 3s supposed to be higher quality. I'll do a search to see if I can repair it. If not I'll take the Candies off my beater bike and use them. I don't have the receipt to do a warranty exchange, have a lot of miles on them. Maybe there will be a winter clearance on eggbeaters soon, Have them on all my bikes and shoes, I don't want to switch brands.

24 miles on bike and another 3 on foot visiting a friend for veterans day. Pleasant evening, cool, a bit muggy at first but nicer later.

Thanks! Living in Florida does have it's advantages with year round riding.

Yesterday being Veteran's Day, the C2C group did it's annual ride from North Tampa to downtown for lunch and back. The ride was very relaxing taking us through old sections of the city with their brick streets and riding the 6 mile River Walk along the Hillsborough River in Downtown Tampa for a total of 33 miles. We should be doing this ride again on New Years Eve morning.

A great ride, 90 miles. About 44f at the start, 22f at the end. Almost all rural roads. Lots of coyotes and deer after midnight. Got very close to a coyote that ran across the road in front of me. Below freezing my lights lose a lot of runtime, but, I was not surprised. I used my back up lights and batteries, before I got to the house.
My mix of 1/3 water to 2/3 fruit punch started turning to ice at the very end. I could drink from the warm bottles in my backpack only.Less water in the mix is a little better about not freezing.

Ten miles Saturday afternoon. Cool (low 40's) but dry. Today is wet.

Brrrr! And here I am complaining about a 35° start this morning - in sunshine. You're a braver man than I, Gunga-Din.
21.1 miles (34.0k). I've had the Tarmac S-Works up for sale since July, no takers (bad time now to be selling a bike) so I decided to pump up the tires and ride it. Pretty sweet machine, but I like the Roubaix Pro better.
I stuffed myself yesterday at the free Veteran's Buffet at The Eldorado, wasn't sure I'd make it out the door today

Today started out really overcast and dreary. After my Sunday morning grocery shopping trip, part of me wanted to just stay in and watch TV.
Another part of me said, "No way! Get your butt out there on the bike!" <-- won. I ended up with a 2 hr. 5 min. ride. Toward the end of the ride the clouds started parting, but the wind started shifting to out of the North bringing in even cooler air.
Now I'm glad that other part of won and I got in a nice ride after all.

43.6 miles in today back on the island. Nice now that it is the off season. Not much traffic.

15 miles doing loops of Prospect Park in Brooklyn. The coldest day yet for me riding. I felt really strong after doing a lot of indoor trainer sessions with Zeift & The Sufferfest. I still need to get stronger so I can blow all the PP riders away. I used to be one of the fast guys in the park, and want to be one of the fastest again. I'm 62 and most of these guys are in their 30s and 40s.
15 miles isn't much, but my wife broke her knee this week after also having broken her hip a few weeks ago during a run. The hip led to her putting her weight on the other leg, but then her leg planted and her weight shifted and her crutches were also the wrong side. Ouch. I feel bad for her, she was also training for the NYC Marathon last weekend. She isn't a fast runner, but she did finsih last year and wanted to beat her time. Yo Adrienne Go.

64.3 miles (actually closer to 70 but app kept quitting and dropped some miles), prep for solo standard century next weekend. Probably take the hybrid. It's slower but more comfortable so my achy neck should handle it better.

Saturday: Chased the missus while she was doing her coach-sanctioned training ride. I think I wound up with 36 or 37 miles. First sign of ice on the roads this season!
Sunday: Went out again with the missus, this time actually riding together. Hard effort out for the 15 miles to the artisanal Market, modest effort for the return 15 miles.
Today: Commuting.

I do enjoy reading about all of your rides. I wish I had more friends that rode in RL (real life). Very rare this time of year.
Some sun today and tomorrow, so I hope to get outdoors again. Last couple of days have been first rides on the KickR and I am more impressed than oppressed by it. It feels great to get my heart rate up as all my winter rides are LSD. What's more is I don't have to slow for road crossings and pedestrians.

With the correct clothing and some practice it is more comfortable than one would think.

Today no, but my wife and I are just back from Italy. The second week we were indoors at a conference, but we took a week's vacation the first week we were there and cycled in the Amalfi Coast region, a total of 160 km and 3310 m of climbing in 3 days, the biggest being Chiunzi Pass on the last ride, 1253 m including a long 17.5 km Category 2 climb up the pass. Well worth the effort for the stunning views. Alas we got home to a bit of snow on the ground so it seems the season is very near its end for me here in Quebec, for 2017.
