First foray into the cold morning air, at least cold by SW FL standards that being in the upper 40'sF with the wind hovering in the 9mph/11mph, at 2:46AM today for a nice relaxing 37 miles. Back home to warm up, chow down and wait for the sun and then out again shooting for an additional 75 miles.

Got back out, this time with the sun shining brightly and winds increasing. Added another 76 miles of riding bliss on the RED Roubaix.

Only 12mi earlier today, but it was the 4th ride in a row on a warmish and dry day. Rare in early March this far north. Also gave me my first 100mi week with 3 days to go (hey - it's almost still ski season). Rode the Follis. No hothouse on this organic mini-mini-farm.
Bike pic is from last Fall.

I took the day off and did a 32 mile ride around Lewisville here in North Texas. Beautiful day on the old '74 Motobecane Grand Touring. It did seem like I rode into the set of an Alfred Hitchcock movie at one point...

26 miles Tuesday evening. Flat tire made me late for group ride, which I missed, so I went solo. Great ride anyway. Looking forward to the longer daylight hours.

Great pictures! I am going to have to take more and stop for a change. I usually ride everyday. Weather is not great at this time and I ride indoors, stationary until the ice melts. PS......I usually ride 25-50 miles per day. Feels great when you complete a ride.

Led a training class in Hill Repeats for my cycle club. A dozen times up (and down) a 0.35 mile 4.5% bump, configured as "pyramids" -- 1st & last time up in your easiest gear, 2nd & penultimate time up in a slightly harder gear, etc. The middle climb is the apex of the pyramid: Big chainring, smallest cog, standing, should feel like doing leg presses in the gym. And I also gave a lecture & demonstration on descending, since you can't do Hill Repeats without heading down the hill. (insert obscure reference to the opening lyric of Blood Sweat & Tears' hit single here)

I wound up with 26 miles for the day.

Bright sunshiny day after work so out for a ten mile ride. 89 feet of elevation gain, if Garmin is to be believed. About 40 degrees at the end, so not quite Springish.

15.5 miles (24.9k). Sun turned to clouds, cold wind but not heavy. Yesterday Weather Underground said rain, wind so I didn't ride. It was sunny and no wind, missed a good day to ride. They're "underground", what do they know?

Today was my first ride in a week because of either rainy days or way below average temps with unfavorable wind chills.
With not a cloud in the sky and above average 70F temperature, I headed out into the countryside, and enjoyed the rolling hills and fresh air. Got in 106 minutes.

I didn't even realize yesterday was Pi day until today. Since it was cold and very windy yesterday, I didn't ride, but I did get in a 4.0 mile walk. Maybe I should have stopped at 3.14 miles in commemoration.

Haven’t ridden since I injured my right knee in a crash during a charity ride last Saturday. It was feeling really good this morning so I opted for a short, 31 mile ride. Didn’t push it so the ride was a slow one but it sure felt good. The knee also felt really good after the ride. 😁

Thanks to DST, able to get in a 19 mile ride after work, even with a late start. Mid-50s and sunny at the start, gradually got cooler and less sunny.

Slogged the fat bike for about an hour late this afternoon along the I&M Canal near Ottawa, IL. Flat, but squishy, saturated crushed rock.

41 miles Thursday afternoon, including a few miles with a local club's B-group. But I still can't hang with them for long. I don't think I've ever finished a ride with that group without being dropped. Went my own way and took advantage of the 20 mph tail wind to improve my personal best times on some segments. I'm reasonably fast on downhills, mostly due to recklessness -- where most sensible folks brake, I charge down as fast as possible. Just can't improve beyond mediocre on climbs.

I was whimpy, WHIMPY, WHIMPY this morning!!!

Temperature in the 40'sF at 1:00AM and a hint of wind required double shorts, double leg warmers, arm warmers + long sleeve tech jersey + cycling jersey + insulated Endura jacket, face sleeve + pull down beanie hat, double gloves with hand warmers, Gorilla tape over toe opening on sandals just to ride 40 miles.

Out for 25 miles on the Domane on a gorgeous FL afternoon. Doing 40 with the club tomorrow AM. I’m WAY behind and have a lot of catching up to do.

OLDTRYGUY rules the roost and can pretty much do what he wants. My wife and I were in SW FL in Jan and I happened to open up the local magazine to look for nightly entertainment. Lo and behold he’s on the cover with his gorgeous red Roubaix!

Sidewalks and roads are rolled up pretty early here in Wrinkle-Wood resulting in very little traffic. Plan to get out in a few hours and hoping for better results since temperature is warmer, 10 degrees higher and winds only 2/3mph instead of 8mph.

WOW, thanks for the KUDOS!!!!

2018 January issue of "Harbor Style" and surprisingly my old-ugly kisser didn't break the camera lens. Nicely written article about local riders.

Missed the club ride this AM, but managed 30 miles in slightly windy weather in nice afternoon sunshine. Nice tailwind on the return and met a nice fellow on a Madone and we chatted most of the way back. These are the days you don’t want to miss out on!
