Another 8-9 miles late Thursday night after installing new shifters and cables and tweaking the old comfort hybrid. Everything's working better now, including the busted shoulder.

I’m going for the new places. Eastern Washington before the heat sets in. The Palouse!

28+ miles on Chicago's North shore, half at 90+ temps, longest ride of 2018 so far. Struggled on the way home.

39 miles Friday evening, including a group ride with friends. My first long ride since being hit by a car in early May. First 25 miles were great. Final leg home was exhausting, mostly due to the heat and headwind. The indoor trainer workouts the past couple of weeks helped but weren't a substitute for the real thing. Good to be riding again.

I've ridden more miles on my Bianchi in the last two months than I did in the whole of last year! A combination of a bad winter that lasted from August to April, illness and an unpredictable work life contributed to my Bianchi spending most of 2017 hanging in the shed. May and June 2018 - here in the UK - have seen spectacular sunny weather and soaring temperatures. This has not happened in years. I've managed to ride three or four times a week clocking up around 20 miles per ride (one of 45 miles) and that has done me the world of good!

Just got back from a 50 mile loop around NYC's beaches. I started early to beat the heat, but the heat won. It is around 90F right now. I lost 5 pounds on the ride, I'll probably drink it right back.

What does any 68yo in 10 days self respecting bicyclist do after being under for 3 hours of prostate cancer surgery 3 days ago with Mr. Foley as a companion for 10 days? Ride 5 miles to the LBS to say HI to the 8AM ride gang and see them off then stop on the way home for some food shopping.
11 miles of cycling bliss.

Finally getting some decent double digit rides - 17.2 mi @ 9.2 avg. Need to start rides earlier so wind is less of a bother.

Just a quick 6.75 mile ride around the neighborhood, at a gentle 14.5 mph....
It was just a late after dinner ride on my C&V '85 Fuji and the temp was STILL 90°F here in Richmond, VA... I about died in the heat and humidity, so that's a prime reason why I did a short quick ride. I don't know about you, but it's just too darn hot outside!!!

When I looked at RidewithGPS after my 50 mile ride I saw that I came in at 494.6 miles for the month. I did what anybody else would do, I got back on to go over 500. It was easy pedaling because I didn't want to get all sweaty again in the 90 degree heat. Tomorrow is supposed to be near 100. Maybe I'll do some laps in the park at 6am before it gets too hot.

Yesterday evening after work rode about 7 very local miles.
This morning got out before it got too hot and rode 21 tandem miles. Including some nice rollers.
Pretty danged hot/humid by the time we were done.

50 Miles my usual ride. Beautiful day 85° blue sky. My first ride this year with my sandals on. I love the sandals, they are so much cooler, and on really hot days I can put my foot in the river oran irrigation canal and really cool off. All my bikes and shoes have egg beater pedals and cleats. I don't use Strava, I use Map My Ride and on all 4 of the routs that are on my usual ride I'm Guru, Sprint King and on one, King of The Mountain. But only because I've ridden the routes more than anyone else, back in January I was the only one to ride them. And on all of them there are 3 or 4 people who have ridden the route much faster than me. I'm retired and ride 3-4 times a week, everyone else must work and can't get out as often. Maybe soon I'll take an old phone and run Strava too and see where I place with the big boys.

First 15 miles of the season this morning. Been running since March, lost 15lbs but my right knee got so sore I had to quit running about a week ago. After a week the knee pain is completely gone, just had a very pleasant bicycle ride.

Trainer day - 9.6 mi @ 14.2 avg. Finally found some trainer music. Couple Youtube turbo trainer videos with good bike beat tempo. Inspired me so I jumped on www and bought a couple spin class CD's. I don't ride hard on trainer as it is really my rest day. Just want to keep my legs moving. AND stay in shape for my 80th bd century ride.

Got rained out yesterday but managed a nice 40 mile ride this morning. Couldn't get my riding buddy to move this morning so it was a bit slower than a moderate pace. The only problem I had with the speed was wanting to make it back before the morning thunderstorm came. We made it back but not by much. It stared raining shortly after I started the trip home.

I rode to work today...but only because I need to bring my bike into the shop for a much-needed tuneup and some minor parts replacement. Presuming I need to leave the bike with the mechanic overnight, I'll wind up with ~11 miles for the day.
Rode 30 miles yesterday with the missus and one other friend.
Rode 82 miles on Saturday's Club ride...started with a big group (18 or 20 riders, split into two groups) but due to the excessive heat a lot of folks bailed at various places along the route, and due to an excess of flat tires several people abandoned the ride leaders and continued off the front (boo!) so for the last ~30 miles it was a wonderfully in-sync group of only five of us. Epic ride...or, it would have been if not for all the mechanicals that plagued my bike. Hence bringing it to the shop today.

back on the trail
A short brisk ride on the Schuylkill River trail, sadly interrupted by widening work and made more annoying by the computer losing wireless lock so going back to 0.0 frequently

Very strong winds from the North so I headed West into the mountains. Beautiful day, lots of climbing to0 much for this old man. I thought the small roads that intersected the roads heading into the mountains turned into dirt roads a few hundred feet in, but today I found a paved one for 4 miles that led to the river. 47 miles with lots of long climbs.
This is only 10 minutes from my house, never knew it was there.

Short but hilly ride this morning. Drove up to San Antonio, FL, with one of my cycling teammates for a change of pace to my daily route. The area is pretty hilly, for Florida, so since neither of us have ridden that area in several years we opted to do the 20 mile route. Had a 974' elevation gain and for this area of Florida, that's quite a bit. Some nice scenery on that route.
