Who would have thought it would be sleeting and snowing in Florida in April no less. I had planned to ride my age but felt like I was 35 again so settled for 35 miles in some nasty conditions.
Can you see the sleet and snow falling?

Nice ride ona beautiful Saturday

Saturday was beautiful all day. Warm. Sunny. Dry. So we went on a late 9 mile ride to Leesburg, VA. While we were riding a front started to roll n and it got pretty windy. Made it hard on my old quads. But made it to town, a beer and then we rode home. (By pre-staged car).

Really good day.

Then it got cold and rainy. Typical NoVa weather.

A hill workout in the neighborhood today. Whatever was "on" for my last ride wasn't on today. So it goes. I'm heading back out later for a long loop, maybe I can wake up some muscle fibers then.

40 miles on a beautiful spring evening. Intended to join a group ride but got a late start and went off on my own. Felt good to shake off the dust and cabin fever.

First big hill of the season. Cutting wind with temps in 40s, but sun. Passed some snow machines and a guy on snowshoes on the way up.

We have had two wonderful Spring days with temps in the 60's. I got in 40 minutes yesterday and 1 hour today.

This morning I heard the weatherman say to expect a high pollen count today.

The center of my bike tires turned light green during today's ride. I can only imagine what my lungs look like.

Yesterday was Day 3 of #30daysofbiking and we rode the tandem to downtown Indy so my stoker could pick up a quilt pattern at a fabric shop on Mass Avenue. Then, took the long way back to our home in the suburbs - total of 29 miles including one short, steep hill.

30 miles on a beautiful springtime Thursday afternoon. Had to keep reminding myself it was a ride, not a workout. Sorta split the difference.

Got out on my Airborne Zeppelin titanium. Only the 3rd or 4th time this year that it was my ride. Beautiful Delmarvalous spring day, sunshine, mid 60s and NE wind between 5 and 10 mph. Did my Bethany Beach boardwalk, Indian River bridge circuit, 25 miles. I wanted to ride this morning but it was very foggy, so I did some catch up on stuff around the house. Got on the bike around 2 pm. I was a little surprised at the few people I saw on bikes.

Day 6 of #30daysofbiking . 20 miles this afternoon on the ti long wheelbase bike. Beautiful day - warm and sunny.
Able to avoid the detour by walking across a bridge under reconstruction. (No crews on weedends.)

No. I've been running around all week and I had to haul 30 14 oz. cans of cat food 3 miles home that weighed about 40 lbs. on a bike made for a 13 year old and I'm 40 years past that. Ouch and slap a Schwinn Airdyne sticker on that thing! I also had to make sure the super overloaded dumpster got emptied when the garbage came early Friday (thank God for top loading garbage trucks) and work on house cleaning etc plus everything else I do at the start of every month. The rain messes with my TV reception and Socks insists on going out anyway and I have naps now and then but it's funny how I don't FEEL 52, not until there are no cartoons on my TV anymore.

I enjoy sitting there with my cat on the bed a while though, whether the radio is on or not. And watching college age women play amateur golf was really nice but of no real use to me except for the fact that they were college aged women. What was that song about 'memory' with all the people dressed like cats?

So not today, not yet.

I told my practitioner I had all the healthy foods they recommend to help my poor kidneys...but it was a fajita salad...it's sad I can't marry the lady.

NOT YET !!! Getting ready to head out to ride today's One Day Cross Florida.

https://spacecoastfreewheelers.com/xfl/

Weather seems like it will be favorable, southeast winds with the rain hopefully holding off until finished. Temps approaching 90°F with humidity up there so plenty of water and no crazy pace. Our LBS has a GREAT CONTINGENT of riders so unlike previous 3 rides I'll have company until they drop me. GREAT GREEK FOOD awaits at the end and the SAG STOPS are also great.
