Courage Classic 2009

Rode the Courage Classic this last weekend - what a great ride and great charity benefit! 2,000 riders covering 157 miles (more or less) over three days. Day 1 was Leadville, CO to Copper Mountain and involved climbing Tennessee Pass, Battle Mountain and Vail Pass. Day 2 started from Copper and went to Keystone, Frisco and Breckenridge and for those hardy souls, Ute Pass to make a 100 mile day out of it. Day 3 we left Copper Mountain and headed back to Leadville via Fremont Pass.

All in all a marvelous way to spend a few days on the bike.

That's some nice scenery and it sounds like a fine ride.

Thanks for posting the beautiful photos. I've thought about doing this event -- maybe next year I'll finally try it.

Yeah, give it a try - there are quite a few options for those who want to ride more or less, and the people riding and supporting it are pretty incredible.

If you do, however, keep in mind you need to sign up early. They cap it at 2,000 riders and it's usually closed by May.

Good luck!
