Bit late- but interesting

Bit late I know but this is what some Idiot Amateurs do at the weekend.

Just hope you can see it over there.

Wild!

While I can appreciate the temptation of the challange and the thrill of accomplishment, I think I'll stay down here on the lake plain.

3 times up Vantoux would be like 5 times up Whiteface, about the same grade. Sorry I couldn't make it that day - had to cut the grass.

I'd like to try that.

Once.

With no illusions of making it all the way even on foot.

Thanks for posting this clip.
It is inspiring for some of us.
Perhaps something to do on my 70th B.D.

I did it once when I was 60 and to be honest- If I had had the time in the next few days- I would have attempted the 3. But as you can see- the weather will take a part on any attempt.

And Mike Bushell is a sports commetator for the BBC and is young- he is fairly fit and not to knock him- he is not a cyclist. But I beat him on time on the one ascent I did. I did it from Malaucene which is the Northern route- but the two "Main" climbs are on the attachments. The 3rd ascent is shorter and not as steep but after the main two- it is a killer.
