POST-A-PIC VI: Return to Witch Mountain

I will start another of these threads. The idea is that we all have a photo or two that we would like to post, but don't have a long ride report to go along with it. This is your chance. One or two photos, minimal narrative. This is not to be confused with the "Did You Ride Today?" thread, that is more an on-going chronicle of our day-to-day rides. As always, I will start:

We have a new rest stop place, "Trailhead Coffee and Cycling Lounge", run by some ex-pro racers and tour de someplace helpers. They have memorbilia all over the walls and ceilings. I commented that they didn't have a photo of our group and was told I could bring one in. This is what now adorns the wall, right along with race posters and pictures of Eddie M.

Still sick today. Yellow Bike looks wistfully out the window.

Good idea but just spent a while going through the pics folder for something that has not been posted and would be worth seeing.

Nothing there except pics of the Queues at the London to Brighton Bike ride. Plenty of riders on this one and these are the lines to through the gate to start. First is of one line for the 8am start with our group in the green tops. Next is of the 7.30 am start that still have to go before we can start and the graph is of the ride. A good ride that is marred by the number of accidents that occur---Serious accidents.

I think his doctor locked up the bike to make sure he stayed off the bike while he's sick. TSL doesn't get the key back until his temperature is normal.

TSL better listen to his doctor, since it looks like the 'ol doc likes to play rough.

You should see the plaster ceiling mouldings and rosette! Dating from 1925, it's the only apartment building in a neighborhood of mansions. George Eastman's 58-room shack is three doors down. There's a Frank Lloyd Wright place around the corner.

Well, the front one is actually one of the Kryptonite Hardwire cable locks.

No, it's not so much the neighborhood as it is me. Back when I owned cars, I kept them locked in the garage, which itself was locked.

This neighborhood is actually a lot better than where I moved from. But I know the lock wasn't changed when I moved-in last month, and the old tenant moved to a larger apartment within the building. This protects us both. Not to mention the place is quiet as a tomb and a thief could work for hours in here undetected.

Plus, the only bike I ever had stolen was taken from a locked room in my old building. They took the door off to get the bike. I'd thought about locking the bike to something, but had decided against it

Don't I wish.

Saturday morning I felt pretty good, so I took a shortened version of my Saturday long loop to work. 13.5 miles in 45°F and light rain. Took an 18-mile variant home in the cold north wind. That was a mistake. Hence, staying home on a nice sunny day today.

I'm supposed to do my annual Leaf-Peepers century to Letchworth Sate Park tomorrow. I'm not going to make it. They're calling for a low around freezing tonight, and a high of only 41°F tomorrow. I'm a snot factory at room temperatures right now. The rest of the group will have to ride without me this year.

Today, I Had a lunch date with my wife. I drove to where she works with the bicycles and we had a couple of gels and climbed San Bruno Mountain.

Roebling suspension bridge. No, I don't have a blue headlight, it's a "white" LED.
