Back in The Saddle
For some reason I haven't biked much since the beginning of Sept. Some of it had to do with other commitments but mostly just not motivated, not sure why.
Well Saturday I did a lovely 22 mile ride by the shore on Cape Cod, little wind an temps in the low 70's. It rained hard on Sunday but Monday I was back at it, doing 24 easy miles along roughly the same route. Both were on the Sirrus and very enjoyable, so much so, I think I will be back in a regular routine.
Anyone else run into these blah periods??

Yep - I've been suffering a similar blah period only for a much more extended time. Since about the 4th of July I've only been riding once or twice a week; last summer I was out for a ride six days a week. This year we've had some crummy weather, and I've had some other obligations, but those are just excuses.
On the positive side, when I do get out and ride I will ride for three or four hours. I've also done a number of organized rides this year and have centuries planned this weekend and next weekend.

Sure--I've done the same thing, as a runner and then a cyclist, for more than 30 years. I'll go through periods where I feel crappy if I don't work out every day, then slide into a down period where I can't seem to motivate myself. My weight will go up a few pounds, I'm not as careful about what I eat, I plan to ride or lift or whatever but when the time comes, I'm likely to go to lunch. After a few weeks to a couple of months, I'll get on the bike for a low-key ride and start to feel like it again. Maybe tomorrow....
The instant diagnosis is overtraining, but I don't think that's it. I'm pretty much just a recreational rider now--I don't go hard enough to overtrain. It sometimes helps to mix activities so you don't burn out. Around here, this is a good time of year for a hike in the hills.
