How timely. I teach a photo class at a college where I play music when people are doing lab work (no darkroom, it's all photoshop on a Mac.)
One of my young students asked me to play some Tom Petty. I was amazed she even knew who he was. I ripped all my TP CDs (and I have a ton) and have been on a Petty kick for the last week.

When my wide and I were dating Wildflowers was one of "our songs." I was pretty amused when our daughter announced last week that it was her and her boyfriends song.

Anyway, there is no way he's 60. I'm pretty sure of that. Maybe 30, 32.

Here's a little photo trickery I did a few years ago. That's me with Tom Petty's body and guitar. I'm a frustrated musician. This is about as close as I'll get to looking like a rock'n'roler.

Hey Curtis,

I checked out your blog, real cool and your wife is a babe..I wouldn't call her "wide" in a million years. That has to be one of the most dangerous misspellings I've seen!! :>)

Petty's "Buried Treasure" on XM radio is a treasure. As are all the Wilbury efforts. Seems like a genuinely good guy. He should ride. I think he'd like it.

What channel is that on? Sounds like something worth checking in to.

Actually, you're right. I went from saying I liked "guitar-heavy, blues-based Rock'n'Roll" to "I like blues". And the 4000 blues songs on my iPod may prove it.

My daughter is 15 and her favorite artists are The Beatles, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. I took her to see Neil for her 15th birthday.

She makes her old dad proud.
