So very sorry DG,
My deepest condolences on your loss. What a wonderful life your parents must have had to be married for 66 years and how lucky you've been to be their son.

I'm sending out my families sympathies as well.

My wife lost her father on the 14th of this month. We were summoned to the hospital at midnight and spent the last 12 hours of his life at his bedside along with all his other children and brother. His first grandchild (my son) was with him as well.

It was sad, but it was also a peaceful passing and he was prepared for the inevitable. Life ends for us all sometime, Petes ended well.

It was a hectic week, arranging the funeral and other final details of the estate and I'm sure his absence will be felt for some time to come.

He also had been admitted to hospital on Christmas eve.

Condolences again Gary.

Brad

So sad to hear of your loss, you are lucky to have such a great relationship with your folks. And you are approaching this difficult time with the right attitude. I will say a prayer for your Mom.

I've made all my arrangements with clients and have my airline tickets. I'm hoping the rain storms here in Southern California have no impact on my traveling east. It's raining VERY hard today. I've been keeping busy all day with simple to-do's, like laundry and errands and such, and, of course, the phone calls that I have to make.

I'm glad I posted here about this because it's amazing how connected I can feel with you all during this time. So thanks again.

Here's a picture of my parents I took about 18 months ago. It's how I'm going to remember them.
Wow what a great looking couple. I feel for you. As I live so far from mine, I'm glad you had the chance to be with them, and I hope that makes you memories not sadder but only sweeter as time passes.
