How are the rest of the Northeasterners making out? This is my front yard and it is still snowing! No biggie if I was in Toronto, but this is Jersey! I asked TheMister to clear my bikepath for me. This is as far as he has managed so far. :D

Did it snow in the East? Saw something about that in the paper.

Send some of that my way - we have had almost no snow since early Jan and even then it was just a little. I usually can see my lawn from Dec through mid Mar but now there is no snow cover.

I spent a couple of hours today in the yard speading lime, pruning the shrubs,raking the winter debris off the lawn taking care not to disturb the crocus flowers, no snow shovelling, in all an enjoyable time. :D

Thats just cruel... But I bet Harmac still stinks! :)

Wow! We've got lots of snow but not quite that much; that is definitely snowverkill . Looks like The Mister is doing a good job.

Actually the difference in Harmac (local pulp mill) now and ten years ago is remarkable.You don't notice it unless the clouds are really low and even then it's just noticeable. But like they say "that's the smell of money"

Well, we've had several snows, and some ice, here in the hills of northwest AR, but it has not been even close to what's in the pic. My sincerest sympathies to you and The Mister. Words like cabin fever and apoplexy come to mind...

Bad! I'm worried sick about them!

I'm currently taking a break from clearing out the driveway. We've had 37 inches of snow in five days, and I'm really annoyed. I got talked into enlarging our driveway to accommodate four cars instead of two. Since both boys were driving I agreed to the plan. And of course we had to have a sidewalk put in to run from the edge of the driveway to the back door (about 40 feet). Well, right after the driveway and sidewalk were completed the first son moved out, now the second one is gone, and I'm left shoveling this freaking big driveway and an additional 40 feet of new sidewalk! I've shunned the idea of a snowblower, but I'm either going to get one or I'm going to start looking for a second home in Australia to use between November and April.

We've had 40+ inches in the D.C. suburbs over the last five days (two different storms). I dutifully shoveled out my two car driveway from the first storm (26-28"), then dug our way out to the street when the snowplow only cleared the opposite side of the street three days later, then helped a few other folks in the neighborhood....oh my achin' back. Now I'm looking at 16" of fresh snow and wondering how long it will take the sun to take care of it for me (i.e., screw the shoveling). Although now I can't help wondering what would be the better option....a nice shiny new snowblower, a small tractor with a blade on the front, or maybe a used Bobcat. ;-)

One of the local churches put the following message on it's sign: "Whoever is praying for snow, please stop". I couldn't agree more.

Most likely have a total of 30 inches or so of snow. This is getting quite old. Made it in to my office today and the place was soaked from water melting thru the roof due to ice dams and ruined the radio. There is a rumor floating around of another big storm to hit the East next week. I grew up in snow country but this is no longer fun.

How many miles can you count for shoveling the drive 2 times a day?

Last time I saw snow that deep was----Don't think I have.

Today- 6.30 am and 4" of the first snow of our latest snow fall. Went 1 mile to the west and boy was it a shock. There was nothing. I mean nothing. Then today- it became apparant that there was a Curtain laid at our town. Everything to the West had nothing- but the Further East you went- it just got deeper.

Suffice it to say that East Sussex was crippled again with abandoned vehicles just littering the roads

But haven't seen a ride report on the new bike yet. As you didn't go to work - did you get one in today?

We had about 18" of heavy, wet snow here north of Princeton, NJ. Beautiful, blue skies here today though. Typical coastal weather.

at least you still have power-I got an email from someone I work with up in NJ and he lost power for a while
