Yeah have never had an issue with hill climbs or sprinting. Am a fast twitch kinda guy. 585lb squats kinda help with that.

Great way to stay in shape. Bench was my best lift. I competed into my 40's and did some travelling with a strength team going to schools and churches. For riding, the shorter 20-30mi TT syle rides show better times than long distance rides.

58 years, 6' 3" at 200. Down from 250 in March. Goal is to get to 195. No special diets other than cut out all alcohol and ride, a lot.

Good evening all,
This is my first visit to this site and my first post.
59 years old. 5'8" - 211lbs. Two days ago I climbed a 1/2 mile hill with grades from 6% - 17%.
Well, perhaps "climbed" is incorrect. I kinda' crawled and dragged the bike behind me.

62 years old, 6' 2" and 225. Just completed my 3rd century of the year. No visits to the ER in almost two years. But I probably just jinxed that.

Looks like I am one of the "big" guys on this thread. 52 5'11 255lbs. I completed two centuries and two metric centuries this summer. With work and family obligations, still never enough time to ride.......

I am 5-10 plus and weigh 168 pounds today and 62yo. The weight goes up and down, summer as low as 165 and winter maybe 175. My resting pulse is around 40-44 BPM, I take absolutely no meds of any kind, blood pressure and all that is spot on perfect. In the mid 80s I lifted some and my weight got up to around 185. Then I went heavy into triathlon/marathon and it went down to 154. I weigh now what I weighed in college in my early 20s. Weight gain is not inevitable. J

I like bikes
At 56 and 5'10" I weigh 185. My best cycling weight has been 170-175. It's very hard for me to hold that weight.
It takes a lot of cycling and a strict diet. I'm stocky..I never hit 190 anymore, and have never gone past 199 in my life lol (about 15 years ago).
I'll never be that natural hill climber...

Yes I went from a desk job to total freedom and I just don't sit around. I love riding my bike but it has to compete with all the other things I like to do too so I just can't seem to find the time to ride on a routine basis. No complaints though!

64 years old. 6 feet, 190. But the winter riding season is upon us, and I hope to drop some of that. I also deisel along all day long at a slowish pace. Hills? I love riding hills, but there are none within riding distance. I do that when in the USA.

My weight recently dipped below 160 to around 155. That's actually not a good thing. I was feeling better a few months ago at 165, with more energy and riding farther even on hot summer days. I haven't weighed that little since I was in my 20s and in top physical condition as an amateur boxer at the light-middleweight level. I'm nowhere near that condition now at age 58, with less upper body muscle mass and a slight waistline pudge. I'm betting a long term low grade tooth infection that spread to my jaw and sinuses contributed. Hopefully that'll clear up after the oral surgery and round of antibiotics.
