I might have already replied to this thread..You all know I be senile!
Well, if I didn't, I am 6'3" at 135 lbs..No fat...
I wear the same clothes I wore 40 years ago..I think it is a combination of gym time, genetics and body-type.

Well, I answered this thread over a year ago. However, it seems that the many data points have not been consolidated or averaged. So, I'll do so. No, Don't thank me, it's a pleasure to serve.
Half of us are skinnier than the other half.
Those of us in the middle are most numerous.
Most of us, of either gender, have more of a twinkly smile than George Clooney
All together, we resemble a bale of racing snakes
That's all

Got measured at work yesterday for next year's health insurance-related wellness incentive payments: 61 at 6'1", 188. BMI a bit shy of Overweight. BP and waist size OK. (OK is < 40") Awaiting lipid panel and AC1, which shows blood glucose over a period of time.

I've got to say, I've never completely understood the fascination with weight. I mean when a baby's born folks are most likely to report or ask about how much the baby weighed, not how healthy he or she is or how he or she looks. If we come to some "understanding" of the average weight of a 50+ rider how is this information useful to us? Oh, wait all information doesn't have to be useful.
Actually, what I'd really like to know is if there is a tendency for 50+ cyclist to be more concerned with weight in part because fitness and weight reduction was part of the reason they riding started. I suppose I should start a thread asking this if I really want to know.

Down to 5'9" (from 5'10+"), up to 190 lbs. (from 178 lbs) and a 35" waist (34" in college). Oh yeah, 65 on Juneteenth.

The other day my wife heard my son and I talking about how much weight we both lost. She asked, in all seriousness, "Is this just another version of a pissing contest?" I have to admit that, to some extent, it was.

Can't answer for other people, but I know that when I lost 40 pounds, I was able to discontinue diabetes medicine. That alone is enough to make me watch my weight closely. Cycling help to control the weight. I'm still a diabetic, but now all I need to do is keep up the exercise and watch what I eat.

OK, but how does attempting to find the average weight of 50+ help with this?
