Looks like a good riding weekend.--%$"!(&&%

This winter has not been the best for riding over here. Wet- Cold or Windy since November and any rides that have been made have been rather short. Even last weekend and although 30 miles were done- it was a 4 layer ride and I still felt cold.

But this weekend and it looks as though the temp is going to approach 50F- the wind will only be up to around 10 mph and any rain will only be in short showers. Looks like the best weekend for riding in a long time. Even have a reason to go out and get some milage in as locally there is a road Time trial going on and I know several of the riders so it will be worth going out and supporting them.

But Murphy has raised his head. Started last night and I have to admit that it is unusual for me. This morning and I have lost my Voice. Lungs feel as though they have filled up with the Brandy I took last night as a preventative and my throat feels as though someone has put a Rasp down it overnight. Head is beginning to feel solid but it would be OK if the wife stopping practicing on the Drums.

Might be a very short ride tomorrow and it might even be by car.

Get well and say hey to Murphy.

I bet the wife can't even keep a beat either huh?

Got a good ride in myself yesterday, and hope the same for you! 50 miles but cool and chilly and I think that rasp you metioned must also mysteriously travel all the way to my throat in the Colorado Rockies! Feel pretty puny today and the rain/cold precludes riding. Tomorrow. . .40 miles! Check out my thread if you care to, for further info. Best!

It was supposed to rain all day yesterday so I got in a spin class Friday night. Then the rain held off and I got the pure luxury of a recovery ride in yesterday.

Why people would commit trillions of dollars to what the climatologists have to say when the clusterfecks can't even get the 24 hour weather conditions correct is beyond me. I'm not a man of Faith.

But I digress.

Sorry you're not feeling well.

Get well soon!

It's been raining here the last two days so any travel today will be by car for me, too. I was able to get a couple 30 mile rides in earlier this week and the forecast for next week is looking good. I'm heading to Florida for a bike tour the end of the month and I need to toughen up the backside for 7 days of riding in sunshine (I hope).

Hope you feel better soon.

If you want to feel a bit jealous, look at the motor racing channel - the noise of the F1 event is just dying down behind our house, and no doubt the commentators are describing how pleasant a good clear no-wind day at 33 C is!

As indeed it is. And I thoroughly enjoyed it yesterday, and did a nice and steady 45 kms between 7.00 am and 9.00 am. It feels like I'm certainly back in the saddle again, and almost back to normal! (just have to lay the bike flat on the floor to step on and off!)

Hope you don't get sick, pal, and ride safely

Getting sick is not good, but it's the change of season I think, until the weather gets itself sorted out, nearly everyone is going to feel like cr*p. Wife here had a bad sore throat for a couple of days and then it turned into a nasty cold. Speaking of cold, it's been cold, wet and windy all weekend, after a nice week. A week where there wasn't light long enough to ride, my bike headlight isn't working right, right now, so I need to pickup another one before riding in the dark. Today I feel blah, it's going to be in the teens Celsius all week though, sunny most days and with the time change it's light until 7:30 now, so should get in a couple of good rides, before it gets cold and snows again.....

Nose is blocking up still- have a headache- but the throat has eased a bit. Did get out to that time trial and enjoyed it but wish I had taken the car. Found a new training route that is going to test the legs and lungs. That was the main problem today- 1800 ft of climbing in 10 miles on a pair of lungs that did not want to know. The legs didn't either but hopefully there is always next week.

Morning from Moab, UT, all! Yesterday's ride was a personal and then organizer scratch due to the inclement weather, including snow! Today's going to be much better and I'll head off in about 2 hours for a 50 mile jaunt into Arches National Park. Despite the good weather forecast, my personal weather is lousy with a cold, just like Stapfam, apparently! Arghhh! Going give it a go anyhow and just pace myself with some kindness. . .It's too beautiful out here and I worked too hard in preparation for the event to bag this, the last day.
Man, the siren call of a screaming F1 engine is right up there for me with the amazing sound of bunch of road tires "whistling" along the pavement!
Stand by for a Survivor Report!

Made it through the ride just fine, despite the cold. Can't hear much right now because of congestion and all the elevation changes today, but I did it nonetheless. Cold this morning during the 0800 departure time and had frost on the gloves after awhile but fortunately, no ice on the road or I'd be writing something different right now or nothing at all! Great ride for a great cause and I'll do it again next year. Signed up for 3 Centuries this summer, with 5 as a goal if I can heal up adequately from each previous one. . .Keep ridin'/spinn'/trainin' all!
