Saddle - Butt Slippage.....Help!

I put on my new model Trans Am Flite and have been riding it happily enough. Some slipperiness on a saddle is good....but this little dude is way too slippery for me.

Aside from smearing on caulking or reaching for heavy grit sandpaper, does anyone have some secret treatment for a slippery saddle surface?

sweat?

+1 for sweat.

Rather than permanently altering the surface with goop or sanding, you might try a little talc.

I had a similar problem with a new Brooks B17. The situation resolved itself at about 200 miles.

Cheers!

Maybe I could speed the process by sprinkling it with salt? A joke.

This article talks about putting tape developed by Fizik on the saddle. Here is the story. http://velonews.competitor.com/2009/...ial-gear_95866

Here are some covers. http://www.amazon.com/Fizik-Extra-Bi.../dp/B001SLH86Y

Hermes, thanks for the tip....checked out both links...the tape is reasonable and worth trying.

Thanks, Maxx, but before I caulk my behind, I'll try Hermes' tape. Not in any way to diminish your idea.

Rosin ?? Check in the sport shop for a bag of rosin. same stuff baseball pitchers use

Are you always slipping in the same direction? If so, adjust your saddle.

A slippery saddle is good. It can give the sensation of nothing being there. Kind of like a floating feeling.

If you are slipping off the saddle. a very minute adjustment of angle may solve that.
