Bike Forums is Getting S L O W E R; Too Slow For Me

Since the previous "upgrade" I've had troubles with this web site. It has been reported to Tom Stormcrowe who said he passed it on to whoever the techs are. After this last "upgrade" now there is a time problem that makes this web site a pain.
For those who understand IT you know that slow page loads are not only torture for the user they also cause timing problems in the system. Sometimes, the ads, at least some of which are PHP, cause errors because they are loading so slow.

So, I'm not leaving you good folks permanently. But, I am relegating this Board to days like today when it is snowing, or I've got lots of time, or I'm doing something else and just sort of keeping this open as a sideline. Or, I've been bad and feel like flaggelating myself.

I've noticed some log in issues but not speed issues. Are you having this issue with other sites?

That's a interesting observation about BF being s-l-o-w; I have a similar issue w/ one computer, but the others I use seem to be reasonably normal. If nothing else, you could try clearing your Internet cache and temp files and seeing if that helps.

I've found that the search function works differently.

I can't get the posts made when I search particular words with usernames that I remember being posted. At best, I might get the thread where those words were used, but I have to go through the whole thread to find the post I'm looking for. Some threads are very long, and I have to spend a lot of time searching through it, and sometimes, even then, the post I was looking for isn't even there.

I didn't have these problems before the upgrade. I used to just type in the words and username, I I almost always got a link to the match that led me directly to the post.

And here I thought I was the only one having problems. Although my computer has yet to shut down, it does time out with the "program not responding". Eventually, it does load. I'm using Explorer as my browser -- I know that Microsoft is the evil empire but it's certainly a common platform. Similarly, it's the only site with which I'm having problems. Sometimes those upgrades just aren't that ....

No malware. No problems with other sites. All computers are slow. Not going to install a niche browser just to do this site when no problems with any other. IE in its' varfiations is the overwhelming choice of web site publishers. That is what I run. Most of the sites I go to work on my BlackBerry. This is among the minority that does not.

I agree. Not going to do anything with my computer when it works very fast with all other forums and functions but the whole BF is sooooooo ssslllooowww since the upgrade I dont understand why an ugrade would cause some to have ths ssslllooooooow loading problem. Did not happen until the upgrade. Is anybody listening.

Switch to Chrome. I have resurrected two computers by switching to Chrome. IE is a slow death sentence for a PC.

I'm running IE 8 and it's been very slow for me. I'm spending enough time here that I guess I better pay my dues and see it that helps.
