I've seen a tag line like this at the bottom of many websites. It occurred to me that it might be interesting reading if there was a data base for saddles that gave the same information. You know something like this:

People who used and liked the (insert any brand/model of saddle) also liked: (insert the other saddles these people liked).

I thought it would be interesting for two reasons. First, just to discern if there were any patterns that exist in people's preferences. For example, I think a Terry Fly works for a fair number of people on this forum, but for me it's too rounded and too padded. I'd be curious to see if those who like this saddle like other saddles that have a more rounded profile and similar padding. Second, it might help folks cut down on their search for a replacement saddle when their favorite is no longer available or if they subscribe to N+1 and need to replace saddles on the newest member to their fleets. Anyone know of such a database?

I do this all the time. Go in to buy one item and see something else that I think I "need". :rolleyes:
My last purchase like that was to buy a pair of Vittoria Rubino III tires (700x25) so I could ride the CX bike on the road. While I was looking around the store (REI) I also picked up a pair of Cannondale gloves. Now I have 6 pairs of half finger gloves.

Those also bought comments are only an Aid to remind you of associated parts you may have forgotten.

But What I want to know is why someone that bought an Ultegra 9 speed chain also bought an 8 speed Deore Cassette?

Or the person that bought a set of Look Cleats- also bought a pair of Cheap "Special Offer" gloves?

Completely unassociated purchases and I wonder if it just the "Excess" stock that is being pushed.


But hate to say it- If you like a Terry saddle- thgen you like a Terry saddle- other alternatives are not quite the same. But saying that- I have two different saddles on my main bikes. Almost identical in shape- padding and feel- but different manufacturers.

That's the only way to shop. My latest shopping trip was to get an estimate on getting the air conditioning fixed in my old "bike hauler". Decided it wasn't worth putting more money into it and left with a new "bike hauler". Now I just need to get the hitch and bike rack installed and it will be ready for those bike trips this summer:thumb:

You could always use the old fashioned A/C, just roll down all the windows, and drive a little faster :D

I find it interesting, the A/C is the most expensive thing to fix, and is the thing that will quite working first.

It's a good question, but the art of saddle fitting is a dark and arcane one. Like quantum mechanics, if you think you understand saddles, you don't.

Here to throw water on your saddle theory. I use Fizik Aliante and Selle Italia Signo and Terry Fly and Bassano Boxter on different bikes and I think they all work perfectly well and they are all very different saddles. I also can use the Selle Thoork, which most think is an rear end hatchet for rides shorter than 50 miles.

I think saddle comfort has more to do with proper bike fit than anything.

As to you might like or others who bought this also bought these. Total capitalist plot thought up by some Wall St. wise guy 25 year old kid to make this quarters profit numbers.
