quadruple bypass update
Dec 11th I had quadruple bypass. I have put 650miles on my bike this year. I am averaging mid 16s to mid 19s for my speed now. I still need to work on my hills. My latest blood work is Cholesterol 98, triglyceride 34. I am doing a total vegan diet and no diary. I also have type 1 diabetes and my a1c was 7. I would like that to drop.

That is fantastic! A good friend of mine had heart surgery last fall and surely would have died without it. Both she and her husband have become serious about diet exercise. Between the two of them, I think they've lost about 50 lbs. in the last 8 months.
I'll tell you what I tell them: go, go, go!!

Diet is the key. Like me you got a second chance. Ten weeks after my tripple bypass I was at the gym. Your doing good. Keep it up. How's your heart rythm, do they say?

I don't know how fast you rode before, but you are faster than me now. Sounds like you are doing the right things. Keep it up.

holy cow - thats awesome
congratulations. thats great work.
how do you plan on getting your A1C down further? i know you said you are going vegan. are you also going low carb?
i always wondered how tough it would be to eat vegan and low carb.
