Personal Best Today! Meet me in Dogpatch...

Friend of mine from further east in NC & I got together today to ride up around the Pilot Mountain area of north central NC. The route we took is one marked for a local ride called 3 Mountain Madness. We were doing a 75mi. loop with 3 climbs. We st out around 8 AM. Within the first 8 miles of the route, primarily rural, we were chased by 12 different dogs along the way, including several pairs! Total for the ride was 17. That is a record!

Didn't jppe want to classify ride difficulty based on vertical feet per mile? What about 'dem doggies? I'm nursing a case of "Old Yeller" (that being me) laryngitis from screaming "NO!!!" so many times today :notamused:

I seem to remember NealH complaining about the same thing when he did that ride.

I've noticed more canines around lately with most of them wanting to give chase. I had one run out in front of car coming after me and that ended his chasing days.

Glad you had a good ride otherwise. The TT Wednesday night took more than I realized and still have not completely recovered. I thought I was getting back into shape as it's never taken me this long to recover. Probably shouldn't have ridden the 42 with the Thursday night group and then play golf Friday pm.

Will be taking the June event off since it's just a couple days prior to RTR.

I'll be on some of the same roads as you will ride on the RTR but about a week later. We start our tour from Ouray on 6/28.
