Ya can tell Summer is getting near....

...when you roll into the local burger joint and see that it's CRUISE NIGHT!

I don't remember my old Falcon sitting this high off the ground, well except for every other week when it was up on a lift.

See anything familiar in this picture?

There were only about six cars total, but it's a start. I expect two things kept the turnout low; the Penguins at Montreal and the fact that it is pretty cold out.

Speaking of cold I noticed this window wide open. I wonder if it matters...

Probably not going to be a problem...

Nice pics.
If summer is near it sure is taking it's time. 30 degrees at the start of the 6AM ride this morning. I was dressed in full tights, two layers of fleece, glove liners & gloves, show covers and balaclava. This is getting rediculous for mid May.

Why you hiding that recumbo-cruiser behind that chopped roadster?

Nice pictures! I came of age (a long time ago) in a small NC town where our main form of entertainment was cruising....from one end of town (the Gulf station) to the other (the White House Grill) and back again. I don't remember any of our cars looking quite so nice though.

Memories

I have some very fond memories of a robin's egg blue 1964 Ford Galaxie with a small block V8. I got married the first time in that car, it broke down on the honeymoon and so did that marriage. It was still a nice car though.

Drove through a near blizzard near Elko Nevada today - does that count as a harbinger of spring?

It depends - did you have the top down or all the windows open?

It gave me chilling memories of my first car in 1971, a completely worn out baby blue '62 Falcon. What a POS that car was. I only drove it when it wasn't practical to take my motorcycle.

I had a '62 Falcon Squire wagon, with bucket seats and a console. The exhaust pipe fell off during the test drive, but I took it into a fellow who specialized in old Fords, and had him go through it completely. So it was a pretty dependable car. Sadly, I lost it in the divorce. Happily, it got swapped for a Specialized Hard Rock my ex had.

my second girlfriend's brother had a Falcon... that Summer i pooled $10 with five friends and we bought a '62 Rambler (the one with the push-button transmission on the dash)... we drove that sucker all the way through Fall, even though we had to build part of a new muffler out of Bud cans...
