Enthusiasm renewed

The weather here has been a tad cold, wet and windy as of late. I really shouldn't complain as the overall weather since March 1st has been warmer and dryer than normal and I've gone on a lot of rides already this year.

None the less, the sour weather of late has dampened (no pun intended) my enthusiasm for cycling a bit.

Last week on my way home from work I came upon a couple out for a ride and we got to talking while waiting for traffic to pass. It turned out to be fellow BF member (Gyro) and his wife. We chatted a bit and then went our seperate ways. We had been conversing a bit through BF messageing for the previous few weeks and it was nice to meet up face to face.

Gyro and I crossed paths again this morning down near the beach as we were riding in opposite directions. We stopped and chatted about different bike styles, BF, favorite restaurants and such. This man really likes to ride, day and night. The more we talked the more I realized what a great hobby cycling of any kind can be.

When we parted ways I felt a renewed drive to ride and explore.

Thanks for the boost Gyro, I needed it.

We all need a kick in the pants periodically. I know I do particularly when I start treating cycling like a job rather than fun

Great story!
I have to ride by myself most of the time & it really makes a difference when you have someone along!
...not many riding bikes out here in the stix...!

Ahhh shucks, I didn't do nothing. :) Lenny, I can't begin to tell you what a pleasure it's been for my wife and I to also meet you. The spark of enthusiasm flies both ways. Although I'm pretty much cranked most of the time. Hopefully our paths will continue to cross.

Also to the people on this forum, for helping to outfit our bikes without knowing it, to explaining the nuances of Tour Pro-riders. I have learned it all here.

Much thanks.

lest anyone think we're not paying attention....

Thanks for the great story. That spark of enthusiasm does indeed fly in all directions.
