They should spread the rear wheels further apart and then put up more sail area.

Ooh!Ooh! Put rails on it and do it on ice.

What do you mean somebody's already thought of it?

Not that this has not been done in the past by others - but that this was a cool video of a unique design that utilizes advanced materials to create and improve upon an old idea.

If we stopped evolving after the initial conception of an idea we would all be riding wooden bikes and carrying bag phones. There are very few "new" ideas, it's mostly improvements on old ideas.

Whike is to Rans as Windsurfer is to Laser.

Enjoy the video - I did.

I used to windsurf and now I bike so I am even more enamored. The other latest craze that looked cool is kitesailing on a snowboard in the great north.

Finding a large place to ride might be difficult! Parking lots have all sorts of obstacles and the security people will chase you away.

The neat thing about these is, you can pedal them to get started. With real, real fast ice-boats (60 or 70 MPH in a 10 MPH breeze) they don't self-start, you have to push them to get going.

I want the jolly roger on mine!
