I'm back on the road.

First ride since my Hernia surgery on April 12th, 3.2km.... Hope to do 5 tomorrow....

Just in time for this week's heat wave. Unlike March and April, May was so-so for cycling in southern Ontario so you didn't miss much.

(says the guy who's about 6 weeks ahead of schedule compared to last year...)

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

I was about even with last year, before going on surgery mandated hiatus, but if the weather stays nice, then I could catch up. What I find bothersome right now is that it seems to have gotten into that "What comes after 3 days of rain? -- Monday" pattern, which means the days you could go for longer rides are rain days, which really gets annoying after a while...

Thanks for the encouragement all, did 5km this morning, and it felt good, we went out about 8:15 and traffic was already starting to be a PITA, I think in the future it's either going to be before 7:00 or after 10:00.....

The best motivation for continued recovery, IMHO. Welcome back to the living!

Yay for you! How badly did you miss riding while you were stove up?

Sometimes a lot, it depended on the weather, some days were really nice, and missed riding, other days were horrible, and I didn't. I expect to do my old 15km route in another day or so....

Good for you! I know right where you are coming from. Last weekend I took my first real ride after crashing and breaking four ribs on April 3rd. I was feeling good as I headed out and ended up doing 15 miles on a flat, easy bike path. Everything seemed great until I got home and dismounted from the bike. I don't think I have ever had legs that rubbery before!! But I felt fine the next day and I should be able to resume commuting next week. It's only 5.5 miles each way since the local commuter rail does the bulk of the work for me. It's great to be back, isn't it?

Good news cat.

Bet it seemed like forever, didn't it?
