I spy......
....a very busy Mother with lots of hungry mouths to feed and many survival skills to teach.
I saw this family this morning down in the Genesee Turning Basin while riding a small 11 mile loop near home. This has been quite a productive year for our little swan friend.
O.K. now, everyone group together for a family portrait!
Oh well, I guess there's always got to be one with a mind of their own.

Cranky, I just love your frequent ride observation photos and comments. They always make me smile!

Thanks Lenny.
Late May is turtle season here along the Mohawk. I need to run down there and take a few pics - they are making nests and burying their eggs along the bike path as it gets close to the marshes. I haven't seen any swans over this way - lots of geese.

Now I better be careful lest I need a bigger helmet.
Yes sir, it is. I was late enough this morning to avoid the early morning sun reflecting across the river. Lucky timing.
There's a nesting swan on Buck Pond about five feet from the guard rail on Edgemere Drive across from the Crescent Beach Restaurant but I'm smart enough to just catch a quick look and keep on riding. My fear of that nesting mother is far stronger than my desire for a really close picture!
On my way back from Hamlin Beach the other day I also spotted what I believe is a beaver dam across a creek along the Lake Ontario State Parkway out near the Monroe county line. I didn't stop but I do intend to get back out that way soon and am planning on taking a few pics.
I'll be anxious to see the pictures.
