N+1 - two in one year (and it's not even June)

Tonight I picked it up - been somewhat quiet about this one although I did ask some advice on it a few months back - and from that advice came this outcome.

I might be crazy but I think this will be a fine investment. When you consider it is really not for me but for my best riding (and skiing) buddy. Now there is a little something different about this bike, can you spot it - can you tell?

Scroll down and I'll give you a hint

Yep - a full up 24" road bike for my 10YO daughter's birthday! The only mods the bike shop made were to add cyclocross brakes and a bottle cage. She road it tonight and just loves it. she was speeding along pretty fast, getting the feel of it. I can't wait to take her on some real adventures. They also have a junior race program here, I am thinking maybe next year after she gets proficient at riding faster, shifting, clipless pedals (which will be added later) and cadence.

This is so cool!

Great! Hope you have many happy miles together on your two killer red bikes. ;)

That Fuji's a nice bike. Does it come in an adult size. :)

You bet it's a good investment!

Any money and time spent nuturing the relationship between a parent and child is wisely spent. I'm sure you're both looking foreward to many miles and smiles.

Congrats to you both.

That's great. Enjoy riding with her while you can. They grow up so fast.

Very nice, all the miles with your riding buddy will be measured with smiles. Great job! Enjoy

Ol' Fuj is looking over my shoulder. I sense that he approves. Well done!

Your Father's day ride will be special. Pictures are required.

Is that ten-speed? If so, I have a gently used junior's cassette I could send you. It's a 10-speed Ultegra 16-27.

Thanks for the offer - the rear cassette is 7.

BTW, I'm reporting you for false claim of N+1 status. This one is N+1 for her, not for you. :)

The red bikes are very sharp lookiing. Have fun riding with your little girly-girl.

Thanks - I'll post some pics soon when she is wearing the new biking cloths & helmet she is also getting.
Unfortunately the pics really don't do the bike justice - it is so cool looking - like someone made a 2/3 size road bike.
Fufi did a great job with this one. She went right from her coaster bike to this and hasn't looked back. I now have a pink girls coaster to sell...
Since she is likely to grow like her older sister - she will stay in this bike for at least 4 years. Then when she is done with it I have another use for it.

Until is scrolled down I was wondering about the "investment" part of buying another bike. However, it is a good investment.
