I was testing my new power meter on my TT bike. Guys, it is a good thing that riding bikes is not like the Old West quick draw. I would be in Boot Hill. On my 2nd z4 of the night, one of my teammates, a younger guy, maybe a Cat 3, goes out ahead. I take off on the TT bike into a 25 mph head wind. I catch him and pass him. I come to a 2% grade and I am hitting 275 watts up the climb and feeling good about myself. He passes me. Fine. There is a down hill section and I keep the z4 power on and pass him again. We come to another grade and I am at 285 w. He passes me and crushes me. And so it goes. Dead. Bury him in Boot Hill and put on the tombstone..................Here lies Hermes...Definitely not a doper or certainly a very bad one. |

In keeping with the thread's purpose: just scratched my junk and I'm going to bed. |

OBX here I come
|
OK. I'm heading out for a ride which will either be amongst the dumbest things I've ever done, or epic (of course, with cycling you can have both). A 60 mile club ride over very hilly terrain is scheduled, weather is 90 very humid degrees interspersed with torrential rainfall. Report or obit to follow.....
|
30 riders are here in the parking lot but the ride captains cancelled
because they are woosies. The crowd is getting ugly. I'm scared..... |
Tremendous storms on the eastern plains of CO last night. The radar scope, from the Rockies east, was just plain all-red (red being severe weather and tornados). I've never, ever, seen that much red on the radar. Incidentally you can watch radar live - well about 2-6 minutes delayed - on at least these two sites:
wunderground.com http://forecast.weather.gov/ (Be sure to turn "update on" - it defaults to off. |

I feel like Floyd Landis, but this picture proves what many of you have suspected: I'M A DOPER. |

Damn it's hot and windy today! Wind builds character but the heat sure is draining...
|
Traffic was really lite at 3:30AM. today, except for having to "miss the drunks" coming out of bars on Colorado Ave. ;)
|
26 miles before church. No Deep Woods Off...I don't dope on Sundays.
|
68 miles down in 105 degree heat factor and 15 to 20 mph winds. The beer is so cold and I think I'm ZZZZzzzzzzz...........

At least you're not a bike snob....the saddle bag proves it.
Then I bought a bento box (mounted on the top tube) to put the stuff that wouldn't fit in the saddle bag. I agree, that made no sense whatsoever. |
PFFFFFFFFFT, if it doesn't fit in your jersey pocket you don't need it.
