I saw the person's thread about the worst bike name ever, and I got an idea. Years ago a friend was starting a gardening business and needed a name. He (foolishly) asked for suggestions. Of course, the ones I gave him were solely intended to crack him (and me) up.

So, hypothetically speaking, what would be the worst name for a bike model, bike company, bike line ever?

While you're at it, if you want to come up with terrible names for bike accessories, feel free.

Their bike models are: Concussion, a touring model; Coma, the road bike; and Street Pizza, an urban fixie.

One of the guys at work has a set of drink coasters with old ads on them. One is for an old (penny-farthing era) bike company named HURTU. Ya can't make this stuff up!

NBC for Nutbuster Bicycle Company. they only make mens bikes and they start at 60cm frames for a small.

I think Ned Overend needs to sell a bike called the End Over End.

Don't get me started on names. I stated a list once of all the goofy names of people who come through my court, especially the horrifying things that people name their children. I've had Dementia and Latrina, Snow White and Doll Baby, Misty Blue Sky and Chzan (pronounced "Shawn"). I had the Walkers in court the other day, and they named their child Luke. Not too bad, except his middle name is, of course, Sky. I had an older guy a while ago named Square. I asked why his parents named him that, and he said he was supposed to be named "Squire," but it got misspelled on his birth certificate, so he went through life named Square. He was surprised when I told him it wasn't hard to fix that. I once threatened to lower child support for any parent who used more than one apostrophe in their child's name, or used a "q" without a "u". I probably ought to set higher support for any parent who would put a "!" or a "?" in their kid's name.

A long time ago, I happened to be listening to a call in radio show when people were calling in with the names their parents had stuck them with.
The ones I can remember right off the top of my head were, Chrystal Ball and Miles Long. Who would do that to their kid?
Oh yeah, then there are the ones that don't put enough thought into the acronym formed by the initials. I hold up Andrew Simon Simpson as an example.

I knew an Anita Sue Scott. Never would buy anything monogramed. A guy I know wanted to name his daughter Amanda. Not bad except his last name was Lynn. Amanda Lynn!

Our last name starts with "B". Back in our pro-cretive years we were heavily involved in showing, restoring, and just enjoying our MG's.

I had my wife talked into naming our soon to be born daughter Mellisa Gail until some goof ball in the car club pointed out the initials to her.

Back to the bike question...I get a chuckle every time I refer to my recumbents as 'Bents', but that's probably just my warped sense of humor.

The BBS bikes have a lot of them -- who thought of naming a boy's bike "Wipe Out"? Why would you sell a BMX-style bike in this 'ebonic' day and age called the "Hoop D"? A bike not capable of being ridden off-road, much less jumped and thrashed, called "Rampage"? With the brand-name "Thruster", no less?

There was an old one, called the "Ultra-Terrain", later changed to "All-Terrain", and had the ubiquitous "Not to be ridden off-road" sticker on the top tube.

People names? My mother-in-law wanted to name my wife Penelope Candace.... you know, Penny Candy. True story.

I heard there was a child in Baton Rouge named Ellis U. (lastname)...

As for bike names Pinarello has high sounding names like the Dogma and Prince. Realistically could have the Pretender and Theory.

Many models are named after famous climbs. Mine could be the Alpe de Wheez....

With a ridiculous topic like this, no worries. Talk about your colonoscopy if you wish. Give it a goofy name.

Couple years ago someone on the Classic & Vintage posted some pictures of a 1970's Japanese bike called a "Kamikazi". Now I realize the name may have an entirely different connotation for our friends in Japan, but to me it sounded rather humorous. Better make sure you've got your helmet on before you saddle up.

I don't get: Maxxis Detonator tires.

A mountain bike manufacturer with a name that escapes me once had a model called the "Prairie Breaker" or something similar.

Gee, that inspires an aero model, the Wind Breaker...

I owned a Litespeed called the Natchez. No one I know understood the reference to the Natchez trace. Everyone thought it said "Nachos".
I know have a Liiespeed mtb named after Pisgah. A place with a lot of good mtb riding. My friend said he had to go into the woodsgah to take a pisgah.

Not to be contrary, but the most interesting bike name I've seen so far.......the Strawberry Innocente. (Strawberry is/was a small custom maker I believe in Wash. state.)
