I Q Test for 50+'rs
If you have seen this before, please refrain from explaining the problem until some folks who haven't seen it before have an opportunity to post their responses. Hopefully, everyone gets it right!!
You bike 10 miles at 20 miles per hour and 10 miles at 10 miles per hour. What is your average speed?

Well, if you don't stop I come up with 13.3 mph. But wait, there's the DQ, and the A&W, and a donut shop, and a coffee shop, and a bakery. I'm going to be out here all day.

Hi,
10 miles at 20 MPH = 30 minutes
10 miles at 10 MPH = 60 minutes
30 min + 60 min = 90 min = 1.5 hours
20 miles / 1.5 hours = 13.33 MPH
Unless my analysis is faulty, steve0257 wins.

Some advertisement was over the part where you asked what is your ? If asking for average speed, I get 13.3333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333333mph. If you want to know how old the rider is, it is 63.

You rode 20 MPH going to the cafe but could only manage 10 MPH on the way back. The difference is obviously Pi.

Whatever the answer is, I'm sure it is way faster than I went today, even doping my Garmin was no help.

20 mph + 10 mph = 30 mph
Where did you guys go to school?
EDIT:
I'm sorry, that is TOTAL speed. For AVERAGE speed:
30 mph / 10 miles = 3 mph

Why you can't make it up on the descent:
You climb the 1 mile hill at 5 mph. Then you go back down 1 mile at 100,000 mph. What's your average speed?
Drag over the line to
highlight the answer---> 9.9995 mph = 2 miles / (.2 hrs +.00001 hrs) <--

This is easy. With all the factors accounted for and calculated properly, my average speed is, um, average.
