Topeak Question

I was warned last year. I recall in one thread a discussion of the Topeak road morph pump - that the handle will work it's way off if not routinely tightened. Well Last Monday I was about 65 miles into an 80 mile ride when I heard something fall off the bike. I stopped, look over everything (I thought) and then went on my merry way. Last night when cleaning the bike I noticed the handle on my Roadmorph was gone - that must have been it.

Has anyone had any luck getting a replacement from Topeak. It is a great pump and if worse comes to worse I will just get a drawer pull and fasten it to the pump shaft.

Call these folks. They are the customer service rep. for Topeak.

They will probably have what you need.

Try this number between 9 and 5 EST. It's topeak service. They have a reputation for making things right, but at the very least they should be able to sell you a new handle. Don't be surprised though at the price.........parts include warehousing costs and are always more than one expects based on the original price of the whole pump.

Thanks for the number. Need to get a hold of them about my floor pump head. Based on past experience I would not be surprised if they just send you a replacement part.

I just ordered a replacement bag-side clip for one of their saddle bags. Wasn't bad. Total with shipping is less than $6.00.

I had an issue with a floor pump of theirs years ago. I don't remember what the issue was but I do remember that the customer service was really good. They replaced the bad pump with a now discontinued "Air Hammer" I like for my car's trunk because of the bullet proof build and the folding foot pads.

Topeak service is great. Call them and they'll probably send you two handles just for the asking.

FYI - I keep a 1" section of only tube around the valve head of my pump to keep it clean. And a piece of electrical tape wrapped around the junction of the head/pump body will prevent it falling off.

Was there a problem in your part of the universe that the pump handle disappearance was not immediately followed by a flat?

Would not have worked, with that particular pump I still would have been able to inflate the tire - would have been a little slower but it would still work. Also - I believe I had 2 CO2 cartridges as well. The flat fairy would not have waisted a bullet on me.

I found a road morph last year but there is no mount.( I guess still on bike it fell off of) I am not sure what handle you are talking about but if you want this send me your info and I will ship it out to you.
I found it on a railtrail that the snow was melting on I am guessing it fell off in the snow and I found it when the snow melted. It has a little rust and it is worn but I think it could work.

Been using Road Morph for years on our tandem. It is mounted on the boob tube (bottom bracket conncecting tube) and the mounting clip is glued to that tube.
Clip it in + we add a piece of velcro to keep it even more secure.
Pedal on TWOgether!
