Are you enjoying the Vuelta?
No spoiler here.
Today's stage (1) was a night TTT. They started at 11PM local time in Seville. The temp was 88F (31C). They said the high temp earlier in the day was around 100F (38C). I know the riders appreciated the "cooler" temps. If you missed the live coverage it will repeat at 8PM (ET) on Universal Sports. No LA or RadioShack but lots of other big names to watch -- the Schleck brothers, Cavendish, Menchov, Hushovd, Sastre, Millar, Zabriskie, Petacchi, Cancellara, etc. An interesting team to watch was the Andalucia-Cajasur team. It was a local team. It was their first big pro race. |
Wish I could watch it. No Universal Sports on DirecTV and I haven't found a website showing replays or highlights. I guess I'll just read about it today and try to catch the live streaming tomorrow morning for stage 2.

Not on Comcass either.
Too bad I don't like bull ridin' or bass fishin'. |
Just watched the highlights/replay of it. A TTT at night was very cool.

EDIT... nevermind, that was an old webpage. |

Nice to see Frank getting excited about it... Vuelta's biggest hurdle to growing is attracting the big names. |
For someone that drools over the fact that I can watch all of the Main Cycle rides live- or the highlights later in the day- on Eurosport 2-------- I missed yesterdays coverage. I will still be able to watch the highlights on a repeat today though.

You can watch it http://www.universalsports.com/cycli...ideo-live.html
I've never found these streaming cycle coverages very good in the past. Al |
RonH, Not sure I like watching a race at night or not, but it was an unique experiance. I think racing at night, with all of the lights and shadows was tough for a team time trial as all of the teams had some trouble keeping organized.
The Vuelta doesn't have as many of the top riders as it follows the TdF, but is worth watching as many teams bring riders from their 'farm' teams into their roster for a progress check. Brad |

I had mixed feelings about the night TTT. It had some excitement but there is a lack of color which makes the teams look the same from the helocopter shots.

Good live video feed on now from Eurosport along with live text updates from Cyclingnews in a second window. Multitasking away this morning. ;)

I don't pay for TV.
Go to steephill.tv. He has links to online viewing. Eurosport shows it and Sean Kelly is one of the commentators. Coverage starts really early on the Pacific Coast. Glad Francais des Jeux one the sprint finish today. Cav doesn't have to win everything... |
