The LBS has one of the Specialized foam measurement systems. I had them measure my sitz bones this morning. I should be using a 130 saddle as I had suspected. The one on the Roubaix Expert is a 143. The LBS manager said I was the narrowest that he had measured. I think once I get the 130 width seat I will be much happier. He said it should be in the truck that will arrive this afternoon.

I would have the opposite situation. I wonder if a 143 or even a 155 would work for me. Almost every long ride I have done has been on a Brooks B17 which is 170mm wide per Brooks. I think that may be a little misleading, though because some of the width of a Brooks saddle is taken up by the outer rivets.

I got the 130 Specialized Toupe Team seat installed. I raised the bar and inflated the tires to 100 psig.

The Roubaix Expert is a keeper. It is fast, responsive and comfortable. It is hard to believe the difference!

I had a really nice and fast ride on it this evening after work.

It's always exciting to get a new bike, especially in red and white! I'm very happy with my Specialized Allez Elite and will probably keep it for another 5 years before the hunt for a new bike begins.

I think that is a good plan.

I was plenty happy with the 2009 Roubaix frame. I was planning to upgrade components as they wore out and hoped to keep it for a very long time. I guess I will now have that plan for the Roubaix Expert. The components on the Expert are already better than those on my 2009.
