Hope you get well quick.
Learn to "Tuck" . I practice from the edge of a swimming pool learning to fall (less bike). I also took a bad fall jun 27th, @ 30mph, hit an obstruction in road, instant pinch flat. Landed on face ( 12 stitches in Chin) and shoulder, and a banged up knee. Orthopedic Doc said bruised bones but nothing broken. Took it easy for 2 weeks and still rode. Again I hope you have a quick recovery. |
Go on, go on..... then what?

I had the broken collarbone thing happen to me just a couple days after yours, when I was unlucky enough to have a distracted young lady at the wheel turn her car right into me. I had the customary two hour wait at the ER and had to lift the arm to take an x-ray - serious pain. So the doc says it'll be another 4-6 weeks at least before I'm back on the bike. How any self-respecting addicted cyclist deals with even a little time off the bike I'll never know, because I'm going stir-crazy here people!
However, I'll agree it is definitely cyclist badge of honor; all my buddies seem to have a little more respect for me now. It's also a great way to gain some sympathy when on a hawt date! :thumb: |
I'm hoping I stick to road rash scars to impress people, though it doesn't seem to do any good with my wife. No desire whatsoever to add a broken bone to my menu of bodily delights.

Sorry to hear that. A number of my friens have broken their collar bone and I know it's not fun. Being off the bike is the worst. Heal soon.

That sucks, especially for a commuter. Try not to drive your wife nuts because you can't ride (It's what I usually end up doing)
