Cateye Strada

Does anyone know how to open the battery box on the main unit? I don't seem to have the touch. It looks like the cover needs to be turned, but I haven't been able to do it.:(:(

BluesDawg 11-12-10 12:48 PM

Maybe it slides off.

If all else fails---Use the big hammer- Or give it to an 8 year old- they'll know how to take it apart.

On the Cateye Strata subject - does anybody know how to set the time? The only way I was able to do it when it was new was to default the unit at precisely 1:00. I'd prefer not to lose my odometer reading to account for the end of daylight savings time.

I have two Cateye products and both have a battery cover that has a slot to insert a coin for twisting off (rightie-tightie, lefty loosey). But I suppose that would be too obvious or you wouldn't have posted the question...

Ooh, look! Instructions for a Cateye product with actual words on it! And one or two diagrams that aren't impossibly confusing!

This is the unit I've got. The battery cover comes off easy enough. There is another cover which holds the battery that seems to screw off, but I can't get it to budge.
I'm about to give up and move on to Garmin.

The cover is just stuck.
Do a quick turn with something that fits Good in the slot.

If I'm looking at the illustration correctly (at the bottom of the page of 10 Wheels' link), it looks like the cover pops off by pressing down on the edge, no? I agree that it's stuck because it should just be some sort of friction fit.

Looks like you just need to push down on the edge of the top.
