Mom, it followed me home.....can I keep it?
I decided I didn't really want a mtn bike after all.
I went bike shopping today (planned on just looking and getting prices) to look at a Felt F75 and a Cannondale CAAD 10. Long story short, I didn't get either one. The sales guy pulled down a Specialized Tarmac Elite SL2 with SRAM Apex components and Mavic CXP22 rims/wheels. The price was a few dollars more than I was planning on spending but after all, it is Christmas.
What do you think?
Haven't had a chance to remove the reflectors yet. First ride will be tomorrow.

Reflectors are still attached, as are the dork disk and CPSC lawyer labels, but, the computer's mounted and ready to go. We see where Ron's priorities are!
Yeah, so what is it with black bikes this season?!

Nice looking ride. I have a Tarmac Pro and love it.
What do they call a 52/36 crankset? It's too big for a compact and smaller than a regular.

Don't we ALWAYS end up spending a few dollars more than we planned before leaving the shop with our new bike? Happened to me - "it's only $250 above the maximum I wanted to spend!"

Bikes don't just follow you home, young man. Besides, who's going to feed it? Take it for a walk? Pick cinders out of its tires? You know as well as I that those jobs will fall to your father and me. Now you march out and give that bike back to its owner, who's probably crying his eyes out right now with grief.

Sweet!
What size is that? It looks like you could have gone one size larger.

Something's missing. It doesn't have any tires for one thing. No suspension fork. Those are funny looking handlebars for a mtn bike. Where's the rear rack?

The white tape, stem and saddle look great on that bike. They didn't look good on mine so I switched to black tape and black saddle. Merry Christmas.

Very nice.
I was wondering in the other thread why you weren't looking at anything in carbon.

Congratulations on the new addition.
So, is the weather going to cooperate so you can put some miles on it this week and give us a ride report?

I'd like to report a missing bike. I'm sure you've noticed the posters stapled to he telephone poles in the neughborhood:
Missing, black bike with white face and chest. Curvy build, but muscular, and fast - very fast. Responds to the name "Tarmac", but ignores the "Hey, wait for me!" command. If found, do not, repeat, do not take her home with you. Please make an immediate call to my cell phone, and I will pick her up. Reward negotiable. Do the right thing, and get this bike to her proper owner!

Hey RonH,
Very nice bike. I live in Gainesville, GA....and today looks a little cool but certainly warm enough for a first time ride. What a nice way to start the holidays.
Where did you buy it? Did they have any in 48-49cm? Nevermind...I'll find divorce papers under the tree.
