Tameing the Screqming Yellow Zonker

This afternoon Mrs. Grouch and I took out the Zonker for the first time in several months. It was great! In fact, everything about today's ride was great. The weather was nice, every start was straight and smooth and I had no trouble controlling the bike and maintaining a reasonably straight line. Although we're still pretty slow we were a little bit faster than last year so that's confidence inspiring. We got lots more "Nice bike" comments than I remember from last year too. Two different people even asked where they might buy one or at least where they might buy a recumbent.

Over the winter I had monkeyed with the handlebars and cable routing so this was a shake down ride for those changes. We made a couple of stops to raise the handlebars about an inch and to adjust the tilt of the handlebar but, overall, the riding position felt good and everything worked to my satisfaction.

Sounds good!
After a couple of shorts rides on ours, Mrs. JanMM is holding out for 50+ weather, which is our usual tandem routine.
