After you get done with that, you can start on this.

doesn't look like there's anything left under that rust to work with. I guess it depends on what your project is.

I might get some epoxy resin and mold the mixture into a beautiful ashtray or picture frame.

And what project is that?

I'm thinking that, with a lot of work, you could turn it into an expensive, not-too-good bicycle. On the other hand, it wouldn't take very much time or money at all to convert it into a nice trellis.

Get a couple more, add a rusty car or two up on blocks and you've got a serious piece of folk art.

Here in the south, most would say that's a perfectly fine bike the way it is.

I think it's a worthwhile project. First you find a frame with a comparable geometry. You can decide if you want to stay with the original frame material. Slowly add components to it. Paint it a similar rust color. Voila!

Push a broken fridge off the front porch of the mobile home and the white trash art will be finished. Then you can marry your cousin.

A broken clothes washer out by the curb with "No Parking" rattle canned on the side is also a good addition. Black paint preferred.

And I'd still go for the rust colour. Just use steel primer with a bit of sand thrown over it for some texture. I'm not sure how you can get that flaked effect though.
