Power Grips fine by me. Been using them ~ two years on my Roubaix (3500mi. 2014). See the references to "tombay" on BF which are not amusing in any way.

dirt-cheap/free plain platform pedals and any shoes (or boots) I want. Same for clothes. And not one bit embarrased about it. I do have a set of brand-new SPDs in original box on shelf with about one millimeter of dust on top. I might be a slow adopter. My wife goes clipless sometimes and she has come up with some pretty impressive words at times while doing so. I think cycling-specific foot arrangements are highly desirable for most classes of riders, but not for me.

I tried clipless, several times, just isn't for me. What I found keeps my feet on the pedals (good thing 'cause if they ever caught a calf they'd tear it up!) are BMX pedals--these specificlaly: Sun Ringle Zuzu Pedals | Flat | Replaceable Pins | Pair
