Oh Dear, Deer, Dare I Display with no Dismay?
Typical trail around here - this is part of my 20 mile "training ride" - 8.5 miles up and 8.5 miles down in a loop plus 3 miles - well, just screwing around. Today I had some company. Besides the deer, over the 20 miles I saw maybe 3 other bicyclists and 15 pedestrians - all of whom moved quickly to the side when they heard my bell, and we said hello and "thank you." I try and do about 20-30 miles daily as the weather improves. Pictures with my cell phone camera.

Today was a nice day for a ride anywhere along the Front Range. Still a bit nippy in the mornings, but it warmed up. Thanks for the pictures.

Around here we have deer-dodging year round. Spring has truly sprung when I have to yell at the bears to get out of the way, which hasn't happened yet this year. I did encounter a couple of flocks of turkeys this week (the avian kind, not the motoring type), so dry weather must be on its way. The cougar scat has been abundant, but I still haven't ever seen one of those cats. I'm pretty sure they have seen me, though.

Last week I had a deer run into me (in my car fortunately.) I saw him coming and managed to stop in time so he just bounced off and kept going. I have had to slow for non movind deer on the trail while they made up their tiny little pea brains about which way to jump.
All in all, they aren't as bad as the walkers. Easter weekends coming ............... that's a no riding on the trail except very early in the morning time.

Nice pictures, looks like a nice trail to ride.
I see deer here as well and have had them run in front of me. I have seen them after they tried to run across the road and not make it a lot too.

The coyotes do bother me - they grow to have no fear of humans.

BTW, the picture is of the Tallman Gulch Trail, a more newly connected trail. From my house, I catch the Cherry Creek Trail (which goes from downtown Denver - where it connects to the 45 mile Platte River Trail - south to Franktown/Castlewood Canyon State Park - about 37 miles - and go 2.5 miles south and catch the Sulp[hur Gulch Trail east for about 2 miles, then right and south again on the Tallman Gulch Trail, which goes up a pretty good grade past the high school and the middle school to a residential street, which I take for 2-3 miles (reaching speeds of 30 mph on the downgrade) which then connects to the top of the Sulphur Gulch Trail, and I head back down. I generally stop for a swim at the recreation center which is directly on the trail. It is a nice loop for a fun ride - "fun" being my operative word on any ride I take.
