Flomax & Cycling
 

I'd like to know if anyone here is taking Flomax and how it's affected your cycling - I've had some bladder (not kidney or prostate) problems recently...

Flomax hasn't affected my cycling in any way. Excessive coffee consumption, on the other hand....

Didn't notice anything, but after a few months I switched to Saw Palmetto. Took a week to work and no effects.

I reported a bad experience here a few years back. I have always suffered from mild orthostatic hypo-tension (I get dizzy when standing up at times). Flomax can exacerbate that. In my case, I would get dizzy and pass out when I got off the bike after riding 20-30 miles. I wasn't exhausted - I would just suddenly get dizzy with no forewarning. I switched to Avodart and have not had the same problems. Flomax worked a bit better so I would go for that if not for the hypotension.

Yeah, my doctor put me on Saw Palmetto and said if that didn't work, we could go to something like Flomax, etc. Its been working fine with no side effects that I have noticed in the ~year that I have been taking it. Any drug you see advertised on TV, better bend over when you pick up the prescription... $$$

No problems here, I take one every third day.

I've taken Saw Palmetto for decades to keep things ship shape but doctor wanted to try me on Flomax. Stuff did squat while my prostrate got sore as hell.

Back on Saw Palmetto again with great results!
