RtR Day 7-Finished
Finished a good bit ago. A real up and down day in 2 ways. A long gentle climb for the first 30 miles and then a screaming downhill for 15 miles.
I bonked or lost all my energy 6 miles from the top-could barely turn the pedals. I gulped a couple energy gels and slowly rode to the top. I got a Mt Dew and finished strong. I whizzed by tons of riders on the descent and hit 50 mph again.
I got super lucky with my bike getting over to the BTC tomorrow. The shipping company is taking it over to the next ride for me along with my bike box. This saves me from having to tote it back to Denver and then back out to the start of BTC tomorrow.
They said if I was foolish enough to do both rides they'd take it for me!
We woke up to rain and rode in it for 20 miles. My toes got wet and numb as the last Pass was 11,500 ft.
I'll meet my Brother tomorrow in Denver as he is flying out to join me.

Very nice chronicle, enjoyed reading it daily. Nice effort - maybe when I retire I'll have to give it a try.

DON'T do what I just did. Went to a pricey seafood restaurant after riding 400+ miles and not eating enough today. My wife will probably accuse me of taking someone else!
Oh well, at least it was healthy.
