Sold Ruby

Well, I did it. Priced it to sell quickly, and got it sold through Craigslist the same day. Asked $550, got $500. Probably could have asked more but I'm okay with the price.

Farewell, Ruby! Many happy miles ahead!!!

Another one bites the dust. And another one's gone......

So sorry it didn't work out for you Dee Gee. Hope whatever is down the road for you in terms of passion is easy to find and long term satisfying for you.

Now you are in perfect position to go for the full carbon bike when the inevitable N+1 urge hits later on.

Di Gee, you are currently at N-1.
If you buy another bike, you will be at N-1+1=N (not good)

I recommend buying two bikes. N-1+2=N+1 (good)

Or drop a bundle on one bike, in which case you are automatically awarded N+1 status. (Better)

DG, catch me up - did you ride Ruby, or was she for a girlfriend (a Spec Ruby, rather than Roubaix, right?)? I recall you very happily introduced at least one lady love to us. Has a lady left your life, as well?

Major condolences, if so.

And congrats on the sale! I just sold Mrs. Road Fan's hybrid, and it will help. N-1 implies less clutter and less maintenance hassle for me.

Coming soon - her Raleigh ladies' 3-speed is going on the block.

Thanks, NOS88. Ruby and I got acquainted four years ago, and she was a great bike. I shall miss her. I lost my passion for cycling, so she simply sat patiently in the garage. I wanted her to do what she does best - taking someone on the open road.

Road Fan, she was my bike. But yes, there was a lady in my life I met three years ago. Alas, she too is gone. As they say,

To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal ...
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance ...
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

Right again, NOS88. She was a 3-dimensional form of white lightning.
