It just doesn't get much better than this!!

The wet record breaking Spring is well behind us and we're in the midst of a record breaking dry Summer. The lack of rain may be rough on the lawns but it makes for very pleasant riding!

Yesterday dawned dry and clear as has been the case for the past several weeks now. Our family obligations are finally behind us and I actually got started on some of the outdoor chores that require extended dry spells. They seem to have piled up over the past few years. After having cleaned the moss and mildew from our backyard deck two days earlier, I applied the first coat of stain that it has recieved in well over ten years. It took only an hour to apply the stain leaving the mid-day free to frolic while the deck surface dried in the hot sun.

I climbed into the Tour Easy and headed out along the nearby Genesee River and then down to the beach. The 90* temperatures weren't too bad thanks to tolerable humidity and dew point levels and I was thouroughly enjoyng the day.

Twenty miles into my ride I happened upon fellow B.F. member Gyro. We tend to enjoy riding the same areas and often come upon each other while out riding. Needless to say we rode the next twenty miles together engaging in pleasant conversation. The miles seemed to just fly by! We stopped for an ice cream and quickly realized that sitting felt quite a lot warmer than riding, but the ice cream made everything O.K.!!

It's hard to beat a day like that....chores completed, good weather, a fun ride through an interesting area, great companionship, and ice cream!

Life is good!

Life is indeed good, Lenny. Grab all of it you can while you can. You got a gem of a day yesterday.
