Still able to ride :-) One down and five to go.....
I had my first of six chemo treatments Wednesday and was able to lead my regular 30 mile ride today:thumb: So far the only side effects have been a little dizziness but my friends say that's not unusual for me....they're so helpful.
My surgeon and chemo oncologist both say my otherwise excellent health and the fact that I've always exercised should be a great help during this time. I certainly hope they're right. I've added a link in my signature to my cancer site so I won't have to post updates here. You should be able to access it without any passwords, etc. I've really appreciated the support and encouragement from the group:) |
Best wishes.

Good to hear from you Beverly!
I'm glad things are going well. |
Saying a prayer for you.

I am so pleased that the chemo is tolerable, and it is absolutely great that you can ride afterwards. You are amazing, and I am proud to know you. Keep reporting on THIS forum, also, as many of us are really interested.

That's wonderful news, Bev! Now, you get out there AND RIDE, girl!
Many hugs.... ~~Sara |
Great news, Beverly.

:thumb: Beverly, thanks for the update and keep on doing what you do. Pleased to hear it went well.

Good news, Bev. Thanks for posting the link. I think of you everyday!

Keep moving down the road to get this behind you.

Beverly, good that things are on pace with the treatment. Could you make sure you do check back in here to let us know from time to time how you are progressing? I very rarely follow links posted here and I also have signatures turned off.

Being physically fit has already enriched you and likely those around you. The fact that your level of fitness now is valuable in your current chemo treatment is an extra bonus. Your positive outlook in difficult times helps all of us who may face our own difficulties. Thanks for that.

Thanks for posting and sharing your experience. Your attitude is magnificent. Keep on going.

Just keep on pedaling your way through this thing Beverly. It is a well proven way to approach chemo. I'll visit your mylifeline page daily. It is a great resource. Maybe I'll go to my page and make a long overdue update.
All the best. :) |
Way to go, Bev. I don't think any of us are surprised by your positive attitude and toughness.:thumb::beer:

Great to hear you are able to stay on the bike Bev. Stay positive, I'm keeping you in my good thoughts.
|
Way to go girl!! :thumb:
Best wishes and prayers coming your way. |
Keep on crankin' Bev.
|
Well done, Beverly. You are an inspiration. Medicine Buddha.

I saw you got some Neulasta - that stuff is great. An earlier version of the white cell booster, Neupogen, really hurts. Both jolt your bone marrow to start producing white cells, and that can cause real bone pain. I could barely walk when they gave me Neupogen.
Now's your chance to ask for some EPO. Aranesp is magic. Then you can call yourself a real pro cyclist. |
Great to hear you're doing well. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
|
Good to hear from you. Keep your spirits up. We're saying a prayer for you. Thanks for the link. :)
|
Praying for your healing! Thanks for the inspiration too!
