Good Week of Recuperation
Finished up my week of recuperation for minor skin surgery on my neck (9 stitches a week ago Thursday) with a total of 108 miles. Doctor said it would be alright to take some easy rides so I felt comfortable easing back into normal rides. Started last Sunday with 5 miles then 14 on Monday, 17 on Tuesday and 30 on Wednesday, 13 on Thursday and 29 yesterday. Monday I get the stitches out and then intend to get up to 130 or 140 per week in preparation for a century ride in late September.

Do you feel any stronger?
I just finished a week of almost no riding after months of almost every day, not medically related but other factors. I rode yesterday and was surprised at how strong I felt, my ride average was up significantly too.

Generally that is the case with me too. However today is very warm and humid so I feel a bit less enthusiastic than I might were it a cooler day. Have read, and I believe it, that an occasional break from cycling can be a good thing. At least it seems more enjoyable.
