Before I discovered cycling, I had no desire at all to retire - I couldn't imagine what I might do with my time. Now I see things very differently. And strings of 300 mile weeks sound like heaven.

Approaching 2800 miles for 2011 and feeling like an underachiever.
600 of those miles are with wife/stoker sitting right behind me. That's about triple our 2010 tandem miles.

Entering a larger wheel size/circumference number into the computer is easier than adding magnets. And less obvious.

With the time constraints I have I'll be lucky if I get in 2500 miles for the season. I'm closing in on 1500 right now which doesn't seem to be too bad considering I've been off the saddle for 35 years and it's been just over 6 months for me on a decent road bike. I'm looking a getting a trainer for the winter months and my wife has expressed an interest in using it as well.

I was aiming for about 3500 miles this year but since taking up kayaking I can't do both at the same time. The renewal notice for my season xc-skiing trail pass just came in the mail which means I'll have to alter my training schedule starting next month to accomodate that. Oh well.
