Standby, folks to the east of Colorado.
Winter is finally here. Checked out the snowblower yesterday. Record high yesterday.

We warmed to the +40's and most everything melted. New snow forecasted for tomorrow and Thursday but only 3-5 inches. Guess you folks are hogging all the while stuff, eh?

My daughter, who lives a few blocks away with her husband and my beautiful granddaughter, wants to move back to Denver, and Conwife and I to go with her. She did her Residency in Denver and she still owns a house there. Conwife and I have considered it, but it was blue skies and a beautiful commute here today; this kind of thread does not help her cause.

About 1500 miles to the east of us will do just fine I think. Not a big fan of Snow unless it is just to visit.

You could be right.
With house prices the way they are here I could sell and buy in Denver and retire. We do consider it and I have spent a good deal of time in Denver, never on a bicycle. It looks like a wonderful place to ride. I researched the bike clubs in Denver and it looked like there were a couple of very vibrant and energetic clubs.
Did you grow up in the area, or move there?

I have lived here on and off since 1962. I grew up in San Diego County.

Yes, biking is pure bliss in the Denver metro area. They made the choice to overlay the highway system with a comprehensive "trail" system where the "trails" are more like highways. Once introduced to it I was/am spoiled for most other places.

That is substantial. Somehow, other than Santa Fe, I never matched high housing prices and New Mexico. Or, do you mean the Other Santa Cruz? In that case isn't the State going bust? How do you have high house prices in that situation?

Yes, the weather is changing. I spent a few hours in the garden harvesting the last few hundred pounds of peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants this week in preparation for what we call cold (30F). It's a good thing I have one of those fancy food disposal units (a college student) or there would be no way I could handle all the food we grow.

As I'm living in Canberra rather than Minneapolis until May, I'm trying to avoid feelings of shadenfreude. I hope you guys in the northern hemisphere have a mild fall with plenty of good riding yet.
Spring in Australia makes for great riding - both the weather and the other riding attractions. On Sunday, I'll be doing a century known as Fitz's Challenge https://www.fitzs.com.au/ THough there is the possibility of rain in the forecast, it's more likely to be in the low 70s and cloudy - perfect riding weather.

No snow where I'm at.
Instead we have these little storms to contend with - occasionally:

And from my backyard porch this morning at 9:30. For you FL folks - this is called S N O W. It is what one skis on (not water skiing, however) It is snowing much more heavily to the west - I live on the est side of town. It is supposed to snow all day, with temps about 12-15 tonight. I'm glad I had the sprinkler system blown out a few days ago.
